My friend and also neighbor found one side to my number one target from this season. He also found one side last year. He grew quite a bit in a year. I hope to have him around again this coming year and maybe get a chance at him. Without measuring I would guess he was about 140" this past season.

That used to be my line too in my much younger years when I seemed to always shoot at least one button buck a year!

Finally ! Saw the 10 Pt. half in a green field , saw it from 100 yards away ,which is why I like walking these fields , couldn’t find the other half .

The old greenie , I found when I spied the little carcass and headed to,it , the old half an 8PT has lying near it .

My wife managed to stumble onto this stud yesterday afternoon only 10 minutes into her first shed hunt of the season! I was pumped to see that he'd survived the orange army. I only found the match to a small one I'd picked up several weeks ago...

So that's what a shed should look like. Yep definitely haven't seen anything like that yet

I was out looking for sheds at the end of the year and found the fresh dead head. It was a buck I had on cam near my house.  Then I got out after work last week for a few hours on public land and found the older shed and dead head, which was pretty cool and has a drop tine but it's broken off.

I hope to get out again this weekend too look around and reset a stand. It's one of my favorite times of year to be out in the woods n fields.

That’s a nice find Larry .
Im hitting it hard next week with the nice weather . Although while January had bucks all over my spot per my cameras , February was sparse.

I never find sheds when I go. Wonder what I am doing wrong.

The only way I can find a shed when I go out is at Home Depot!

How much time do you put in ? I found my first this year after 8 hours of looking , found number two an hour or so after . Most years I find one for each 2-3 hours .  As mentioned it’s best to look where they winter, I like green fields ,as they can still feed in them over the winter . I also walk a lot of hedgerows, as the deer follow them on the farm going from point A to B .

Woods and thickets , I find them but it’s generally when I almost step on them , matted down fields you can glass and see them from a long ways off . Also turn around from time to time , it’s easy to miss one on the “ other side “ of a tree trunk . I have two thickets left to hit on the farm and I’m not looking forward to that .

Many here are much better at this then I
