Biden dismisses Uighur genocide as part of China’s ‘different norms’

President Biden is dismissing the genocide against the Uighur population in China, dubbing the mass internment a “different norm” — despite the State Department this month responding to “atrocities” in the camps, following reports of systemic rape and torture.

The commander-in-chief made the remarks after being asked during his CNN town hall Tuesday evening about his recent conversation with his Chinese counterpart, starting his response by relaying Xi’s justification for the abuses.

biden is the one who should be impeached !!!

I dont know, I read the article and I dont really hear him saying that there will be no consequences for their behavior toward the Uighers; I mean,in his speech,  he uses language where hes clearly opposed to it.  I do get though, that his response  sounds very limp in that he also appears to suggest the US will do nothing on their own to condemn the behavior, other than suggesting that the UN will ultimately decide.

This is an issue for the UN; not the USA.  This is precisely the reason the UN exists. The USA needs stop being the world's moral & humanity police.

So how is the UN which is   made up of many that do the same in there country's going to do anything  about  china's human rights violation's ? This is why we should try and detach from china's cheap shit products and trade else where or make it here .

The countries with the worst human rights abuses and most weapons of mass destruction are on the most powerful committees in the UN and prevent anything from improving around the world.  China, Russia and the US control most everything in the UN.

The UN, which is made up of many countries that do not do the same in their country, are supposed to act together and vote to impose sanctions, humanitarian aid, and inspections.  The USA alone cannot succeed here.  Here is the problem with the UN system.  This is raised as an issue and voted on.  Countries assess, in many different ways,  how this impacts them.  Many countries turn to the USA and want some benefit for their vote.  Others will turn to China to "sell"  their vote.  Doesn't the UN sound like our Senate!

On another point, my understanding is this is an anti-Muslim/Islam genocide going on in China.  Where are the Muslim nations in condemning this?  Where is Isis and the other Islamic extremist terrorist groups? Shouldn't they be the most vocal ones attacking China on this?

China and Russia appear to fit this description perfectly  and I agree, but the US? yes, we have WMD's and are wield tremendous influence and power in thaty world body, I have no doubt; but are you saying that wetre one of the despotic regimes than also?

No, just that we have so much control over all world events.  That's why we are the world's policeman.

...and being the world's policeman is why half the world hates the USA!!!  They view it as a form of USA imperialism.  The USA exerting and imposing it's will, morals, and ethics on them.  It needs to be the UN with other countries having skin in the game.

I don’t think it works that way as different sects of Muslim followers have constantly been at war for almost eternity.

As someone who served in three foreign wars, that comprehensive and painful education has instilled in myself the ME FIRST ideology.  Although only the dead have seen the end of war, I am not much of a believer in the “no man is free until all men are free” idea.  Been there, done that.

It is sad there is death and destruction, but has man’s inhumanity to man ever changed?  Still anyone who is passionate enough about someone else’s “human rights” ifs free to pick up a weapon and field pack.  This is hardly a new concept.  The Abraham Lincoln Brigade (https://alba-valb.org/) is a good example of those who independently went to fight.

The Chinese government is truly evil.  America helped liberate China from Japan in 1945.  In return China has helped kill Americans in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.  China protects and provides for the evil leadership of North Korea whose regime is reminiscent of Mao Tsung, one of the world most evil dictators.

Still China will remain powerful due to corrupt politicians and businesses that import Chinese junk that includes poisonous foods.  The wealth China has and will acquire is used to pay for their powerful military.  We can only guess what China will use that powerful military.

It is not politicians importing chinese crap,it is companies selling cheap crap and people buying it.

As it is right now the U.S military budget is more than double of China's.

like I said  UN is a paper tiger they only pick on small country's and even then almost never do anything, its a joke they often put the biggest human rights violators in charge of  the  un human rights council.

We need to just detach from china  they are never going to change by trading with them we are just  making them rich by using there slave  labor over there .  Their  system would collapse with out us trading  with them .

That isn't that hard to do when you have such a low rate of pay for  soldiers and control the production and costs of the weaponry.  I think I read that their equivalent to a private in our Army gets less than $10,000 annually.

Its a combination of both . Combine the 2 and you get Criminal News Network
