Herd Immunity vs. Perpetual Fear

Recommended Posts

It is now clear that government lockdowns have proven disastrous for people and our economy. They have also been ineffective. According to the most recent summary of social-distancing measures published by Nature, "Stay-at-home orders did little to mitigate the pandemic spread." The authors say there is "no evidence that the number of deaths/million is reduced by staying at home."

But there is another reason well-governed states are lifting restrictive ChiCom Virus pandemic mandates.

In discussions this week with physicians who are career disease specialists, I noted these interesting data points. This information is receiving no mention by the Biden administration or its Leftmedia propagandists in order not to disrupt their perpetual "fear and angst" agenda — ensuring their constituents believe BIG Gov is their savior.

First, according to the CDC, in the U.S. there have been 29 million individuals who have tested positive for the ChiCom Virus and recovered.

Second, early in the pandemic it was estimated that the number of Americans who have had the virus but were either asymptomatic or recovered from mild flu-like symptoms was 10 times the number of diagnosed cases. That number is now more conservatively estimated to be about three times the diagnosed number. So at present there are about 87 million undiagnosed recoveries.

Third, thanks to the stunning success of the Trump administration's Operation Warp Speed vaccine-development program, 60 million people have already had one or both vaccine doses, and by the end of March the number of those fully vaccinated will be almost 100 million.

Thus, by the beginning of April, more than 200 million Americans will have COVID immunities.

According to Mayo Clinic experts, 70% of the population must have immunities intact in order to reach COVID "herd immunity" — that's 220 million people. In other words, we are weeks away from reaching herd immunity, as predicted by Johns Hopkins School of Medicine professor Dr. Martin Makary, despite the variants.

Of course, Makary was "fact-checked" for daring to suggest we would reach herd immunity prior to when the Swamp Doctor, Anthony Fauci, says we will. But the fact-checkers got fact-checked and Makary is correct.

Indeed, this week Fauci himself declared, "We anticipate ... that the herd immunity level will be about 70-85%. That's the time that we believe, if you look at the planned rollout of the vaccines, that we would hopefully get to that point somewhere by the end of the summer and the early fall."

Well, no.

If 70%, we will reach that target by mid-April. If 85%, we should reach that target in May.

Last week, Joe Biden read these words from his prepared script: "We're now on track to have enough vaccine supply for every adult in America by the end of May." That is "every adult" including those who have already recovered but may choose to take the vaccine anyway.

What's next from Fauci, "herd immunity when we reach 150%"? Is anyone paying attention to the basic math?

For sure, Fauci's fake narrative fit all the faux Demo drama ahead of the party-line passage of their larded $1.9 TRILLION so-called "American Rescue Plan," despite an economic recovery well underway.

Question: Should anyone be listening to anything Fauci says?

Behind Biden, the second most powerful and equally senile wax figure in DC is Fauci. He wields an enormous amount of power for an 80-year-old lifelong DC bureaucrat, having been in the bowels of various federal agencies since 1968.

Frankly, I never understood why Donald Trump did not tell Fauci "YOU'RE FIRED" last June, when Fauci admitted lying to the public about the effectiveness of face masks — or after any one of the countless times Fauci ventured far off the White House Coronavirus Task Force reservation with serial contradictions in celebrity media appearances.

Recall that once caught in that lie, demonstrating his signature unmitigated arrogance, Fauci insisted, "With all due modesty, I think I'm pretty effective."

Fauci's "modesty" and "effectiveness" notwithstanding, herd immunity is on its way! While those with significant comorbidity factors should take appropriate precautions, it is past time to reopen our country. Unlike Fauci, Makary is sticking with the science. As Dr. Makary advised in an additional Wall Street Journal analysis today, get the vaccine and go.

Finally, never again should we quarantine the most healthy among us and shutter businesses across the nation.

That was well thought out and nicely written. I’m so happy to be in Florida where common sense is prevailing. Imagine a world where you can go into a store without a mask and nobody says anything. Florida is one of the states that gets it. That’s not to say there aren’t people still living in fear. Last night I watched a guy by himself walk down my empty street with a mask on. Really???

The strange ones I see up here is people driving in their cars with the windows up wearing masks . Why ?  Each to their own I guess . Wondering if they had a disinfecting mist blowing out of the heater vents.

But the best one I saw was when I went shopping at a local Aldi store. The guy in front of me at the register looked like he just got off a spacecraft. Wearing high winter boots , thick snowmobile suit  tucked in his boots and duct taped at the seam. Neck gaitor on with a full cover helmet with windshield and wearing a full facemask with just the eyes cut out. Winter insulated thick gloves with velcro straps. And here I am standing behind him in the line wearing shorts , tee shirt and sneakers wearing my flimsy little blue home Depot mouth mask . This was on a hot day in August !  I did say something jokingly to him . I said " The virus might not get you but you are going to die of heat stroke ! "   He says back that " you just cant be too careful with this virus. "  If he turned and told me he had lung cancer I would understand. But he honestly said that he was just scared to death of the virus. To each their own I guess.

And those are the people who should've been protected.  Instead the govt watered down their protection by making everyone comply with useless demands.  WTF is wrong with you that you cannot comprehend that?

Stop being such a compliant sheep.  Your compliance is destroying other people's lives.

Many more would have been protected if jackasses like you didn’t spend the first half of the pandemic claiming that it was a hoax or exercising their “god-given right” to not wear masks.

BS!  We claimed the media's handling of the info was a hoax and provided the science that masks don't work, all the while demanding the most vulnerable needed to be protected without destroying the economy and the lives of the hundreds of millions who were not in danger.  The jackasses are the people so afraid of a virus with a 99.95% survival rate, they allowed the govt to remove the right to live as they wished without penalty.

Never in the history of this land have we ever done any of this extreme BS during a pandemic.  It was done this time for two very specific reasons.  To get Trump out of power and increase the size of government and it's control of our lives.

And with all of that, many people still died.  That's how effective the plan was and still is.

Fear is a very powerful tool to control the masses and the govt is well aware of it.  You apparently aren't.

This isn’t magic - the numbers tell the story. Infection rates and subsequent deaths increased during periods where folks stopped socially distancing (ie. holiday travel, parties, reopening of bars/restaurants). Uptick in cases did not occur because of misguided CDC recommendations. It happened due to a lack of compliance.

Is that a typo?  Are you still claiming masks are ineffective?

They do not work to prevent viral transmission.  That is a fact.

Medical proof study on the subject:  https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4480558/

Sorry to stop this here VH, but I see no reason to debate this with you, as you are not open to factual discussion on the subject.  Your mind is made up and closed.

Fare well out there.

I’ve said this before: scientific articles shouldn’t be thrown around like memes on social media. There’s background and context that is important to understand and that cannot be served solely by reading a title or abstract.

Think about what this meta review is exploring. A surgeon wearing a mask to protect a medicated patient from direct spittle (or themselves from splash of blood/bodily fluids) is altogether different than reducing airborne transmission of a highly infections virus that we know travels via aerosols that we emit.

I have other technical issues with the methodology of the article you shared but I’ll spare you. The point is that the review article you shared does not present evidence for masks being ineffective at reducing Covid transmission.

If this is true then the states that never had mask mandates at any point during the pandemic or closed their economy should have a lot more deaths then the states that did. Pretty easy science to me.

I cant stand the outdoor sideline reporter wearing one, or the motocross starter thats outside and 50 yards from the nearest person. When I run I see at least a couple people ride by me on bikes wearing them. How stupid can one be? At least when Fauci sat down with his family at whatever that stadium event was he took his off and said it wasnt necessary in that setting.

THE DEVASTATING PRICE OF INEFFECTIVE LOCK DOWNS

The waxy automaton Joe Biden read a prepared national address last night on the one-year anniversary of the ChiCom World Health Organization's declaration of the ChiCom Virus pandemic. His handlers chose this date for Biden to insist he saved the nation, despite the fact that WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was conspiring with Red China dictator Xi Jinping to conceal the outbreak — until China was in a position to maximize the damage to the U.S. economy.

By extension, of course, China maximized the devastation not just to American lives and livelihoods but to those of other nations.

Last year, we published a link to the Great Barrington Declaration, a prophetic condemnation of the current lockdown strategies being mandated by many U.S. state governors and leaders around the world. The authors, infectious disease epidemiologists and scientists, noted, "Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health."

The Declaration concluded: "Those who are not vulnerable should immediately be allowed to resume life as normal. Simple hygiene measures, such as hand washing and staying home when sick should be practiced by everyone to reduce the herd immunity threshold. Schools and universities should be open for in-person teaching. Extracurricular activities, such as sports, should be resumed. Young low-risk adults should work normally, rather than from home. Restaurants and other businesses should open. Arts, music, sport and other cultural activities should resume. People who are more at risk may participate if they wish, while society as a whole enjoys the protection conferred upon the vulnerable by those who have built up herd immunity."

Prophetic indeed — and the Declaration has been signed by 13,000 medical and health scientists and more than 41,000 healthcare practitioners.

One of the principal authors of that study, Stanford University Medical School professor Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, recently noted the lockdowns are the "biggest public health mistake we've ever made. ... The harm to people is catastrophic."

He reiterated this week: "Lockdowns are the single worst public health mistake in the last 100 years. We will be counting the catastrophic health and psychological harms, imposed on nearly every poor person on the face of the earth, for a generation. At the same time, they have not served to control the epidemic in the places where they have been most vigorously imposed. In the US, they have — at best — protected the 'non-essential' class from COVID, while exposing the essential working class to the disease. The lockdowns are trickle down epidemiology."

As I noted again yesterday in my condemnation of Swamp Doctor Anthony Fauci, nobody should be listening to anything he says, and "never again should we quarantine the most healthy among us and shutter businesses across the nation."
