I dont care if its first day in pa.  Im not going out in 20 mph winds and feels like 10 deg.  Never shoot anything on first day anyhow.

Passed a small buck right around legal light. 4 doe hanging out in the neighbors cut corn.

Wind is sporadic but when it gusts, damn is it cutting. This is why I spend money on good gear. Days like today.

I upped my gear last year. I’m comfy as heck.  Cold never really bothered me anyhow but now I’m downright comfortable.  Broke out the muff with hand warmers today.

Same. Muff with electric hand warmer, heated socks and insoles and some good insulated wind blocking gear and other than my hand right now from typing I can’t complain.

Me and my buddy are in at my place. He had a doe and fawn go by at 7. I had a small buck hang around for a while at 7:30. Getting pics of deer heading into my corn field that was cut yesterday but the wind is no good to sit over there this morning.

Great Buck Wolc.  Congrats way to get it done.   Now get a big bear in the dacks to top off your season.

I my not even take my 30/30, but my father in law has one up there that I can use if the weather conditions are ok (no sleet or rain).

The one gun that I am taking is my old J Stevens 16 gauge side by side, so that I can try for grouse.  I saw a lot of them when I was up there in October.

I will bring along some Remington sluggers for it, in case the weather is wet and I happen across a bear, that has not hibernated yet.

It has been a long time since I killed a grouse.  After about 10 years of nothing but cardboard tasting chicken and turkey, I could really use some white meat that actually has good flavor.

Well looking forward to you in a pic with a nice bear with a couple of grouse sitting on his back sleeping.  Til then enjoy a cold Genny you earned it

A muff with hand warmers is the ticket. I've used one for the past few years. I just bought one for my son and convinced my in-laws to upgrade from glitins.

I actually love my Sitka fanatic jacket for that reason it zippers on the diagonal and has a built in muff

Pulled the plug. Put up 3 tails on way out. Heard a few shots. Off to the Seneca niagara casino to enjoy presidential suite given by friend who gambles a lot and comped. Gonna sit in the jacuzzi, drink wine , play with the remotes for blinds , tv from jacuzzi and go to Cole Swindell concert with amazing seats later. I don’t even pull slots lol. Back at it for evening watch tomorrow. Good luck out there everyone
