i'm no lawyer but I believe it just boils down to a guy who is hunting next to a dead deer and maybe he wasn't the guy who called, blah, blah, blah. I doubt you'd win against that.

What bullets were you using?
Powerbelts?

Pittman accumax 275s. I had everything taped up and have hunted with the gun many times in the rain and never had issues but it would be hell of a lot easier if it was a moisture issue and not something structural with the firing pin. Hopefully will get some time to pull it apart tonight and back out to the range tomorrow.

What ML are you shooting? I'm a NJ guy and someone just posted something similar with a CVA on one of the NJ forums. 

CVA scout. It’s sold as a 45-70 but I had it converted to a .45 smokeless ML. Appreciate the heads up on the NJ forums

I think my season might be over. I had a mid 140s 9 pointer at 50 yards yesterday and thought I smoked it only to find no hair or blood. Make sure the primers are seated all the way into the modules.. iv seen a few buddies have no fires due to the primer not seated all the way in the module.. when ya try to shoot the firing pin actually pushes the primer the rest of the way in the module and shows the firing pin mark on the primer but doesnt fire

I made it out for the last 3 hrs of the afternoon today.  At 4pm I had a momma doe her piebald button buck and little doe come in and hangout out eating the winter rye 10 yards in front of me for a good 30 minutes.

Isn’t it cool how you can sit there sometimes and get all kinds of pics and videos of them but when you want to shoot they “know” you are there or something isn’t right and they are on edge.  Makes for a great sit when you get to watch them like that

That is so true. I had a rough season a few years ago and had some doe come through during mz and I swear they weren’t looking at me and all I did was turn my head slightly and slowly and they immediately did the “swift head raise” and I was pegged.

And I’ve had seasons where I’ve shot at one missed and had them stick around for another. Made videos, moved around etc. it’s wild.

That’s a tough pull. The need/want to harvest a deer is strong. One could chase many small game critters to fill the “Desire”in us. The pull is real.

Our Target 8pt was at this cam this morning at 1am and yesterday at 3am on my way in. I’m about 400yds from this spot. If I don’t see him in another hour or so I’ll go try to find him.
