Tried striper fishing for the first time tonight and thanks to@Chef Lending me equipment i got one. Great time with the boys tonight. CrappyIce got a 7lber on the boga grip scale. Chef caught the most. Jerkman caught a few big ones and lost a real nice one. AT even caught a catfish and we had a ton of bites. Lastly, CrappyIce gave us 12-packs of Ruby Reds at the end. Beers, fish, and cigars. Tough night to top!

That’s a good sign, with the forecast next week I think we’ll start catching them up this way.

I've been seeing more boats along 787 every day.

Nice going..... strippers are a lot of fun and put up a good fight. Were you guys fishing the slack to high tide with bloodworms ? The fishing is gonna get better when the big cows start making their way up the Hudson.

I have no clue what we were doing. Worms and Bunker. Casted out as far as you can and let it sit

Fished from about 2 hours before low, into the slack and till about 2 hours before high.... only really stopped because we ran out of bait. We truly crushed with non stop action for 6 hours

What are the regs in NY this year for Stripers ?  Here in NH the limit was over 32 inches and one fish limit . In MA the limit was 28 inches and a 2 fish limit . Maine regs were one slot limit fish between 22-28 inches and one over 40 inches.

The rules have now changed to the same regs for all 3 states . One fish slot limit over 28 inches to under 35 inches . When bait fishing you must use corrosive circle hooks with non offset barbs .
