I like the Early Season. The Big Birds are just easier to Kill.

Although my Best Gobblers have mostly been taken in the " Late" Season.

My Best Gobbler- Spur wise was taken on a May 31st.- Just a Smidge over 1 1/2"s.

No real preference. I work all week so I hunt every weekend. It's a short season. 8 days. This year 11 weekend days. But memorial day is fishing time.

I'm waiting for the late season uptick. Usually mid May. I keep a log of turkey kills and flipped thru the pages a week ago and was surprised to see how many birds I've shot after May 20, a couple in the last couple days of the season

My biggest paintbrush was taken on Memorial Day years ago , but I prefer the first week because their easier to kill and like WNYTRPR mentioned that you can see them better. It gets too hot and green after the 3rd week.

I'm a early season guy.  Hate getting up early, and it's too easy to kill a early season tom. Plus it's when my busy season really ramps up.
