I am not a big government guy. My belief is the biggest thing the government should be doing for all of us is keeping us safe. Now, i don't mean seat belt laws, mask mandates, gun control, making us eat our green beans or anything that should be a personal choice.   I mean safe from national and criminal threats.

We have left Afghanistan in control of the Taliban. So after 20 years we are back to where we were pre 9/11. How do we let that happen? Our President says the war is over but should the war on terror ever be over?  To think that terrorism isn't going to happen anymore is insane.  We are told our intelligence has never been better and it will be a different kind of war and then we drone strike a van full of children. How good is our intelligence?

We have had at least a million people pour over our border. Those are the ones that were caught and released. How much vetting are these people getting? Does anyone really believe they are getting a detailed vetting with the number of people coming through?  If 1% of those people are terrorists, gang members, murderers, drug runners etc, that is 10000 bad guys we let in our country. I'm guessing that number is greater than 1%.

Our police force is demoralized. They aren't receiving any support from our elected officials. They are retiring or quitting in droves and there is a severe lack of new recruits. They have gone from policing to being clean up crews that arrive after the mess.  I don't blame them at all. We are to blame for letting this happen.

Our President's UN speech, didn't mention a single word about China (IMO our biggest adversary). Said endless diplomacy over endless arms. (which to me is saying we will just talk instead of punching you in the mouth). Didn't mention our tensions with France or other allies. Most of it was about climate change.

Our President believes Climate change and white God loving Christians are the biggest threats to our Nation. In my opinion, those aren't even in the top 20 when i leave my door in the morning. I am pretty sure that the sun isn't going to vaporize me today or is a church going Christian going to do anything to me.

Now i don't leave my door in the morning with a lot of worry about my safety Thankfully, but unlike a year or two ago, I am more concerned about running into a BLM protest, being robbed by a crack head or heroin addict while at work, or my daughter being harassed by Mexicans at from the track or BLM while working in Saratoga?

Are we safer???

The current administrations just brought 32,000 afghan refugees here ,the rest will be set free once their measles and mumps clears up . Nobody knows the end total yet . I don't feel safer knowing they just brought who knows how many terrorists here with no way of knowing where they will end up. It's not hard to see the future generations will be literally paying for this idiot and his ridiculous spending trend. The biggest fear i have right now is how far the current administration will sink this country and will it ever be able to rebound . This is by far the biggest blow to America anyone has ever witnessed.

While I try to avoid the news at all costs, the only one I rely on for my safety is myself. While I agree that I shouldn't have to worry about terrorism, I do. When you depend on someone/something else for your safety you are doing yourself a disservice. I don't trust the government to have my safety as top priority. Ultimately there's not much I could do about terrorism on a national level but hope I can avoid it. If not, then it is what it is, I'm not going through life terrified of any possibility. Noone gets out of life alive.

I'm worried about an attack on the National grid.  If the entire electrical grid were taken down, be it with coordinated attacks or an EMP strike, this country would descend into lawlessness and anarchy within a couple of days.  No electric, no refrigeration, no food, no heat, no gas since pumps need electric to fill your car, no alarm systems working, no internet, TV, or radio.  Think about it.

Even worse, I believe the biggest threat to our safety right now is the massive national debt that threatens to cause an economic collapse.  If that happens the dollar will be worthless, nobody working for any government agency, from police and fire, to teachers and garbage men, will be getting paid.  Nothing will be functioning.  Will the electric still be there?  Will water come out of your kitchen tap?  Supermarkets would be empty.  Lawlessness would increase rapidly.  Anarchy could very easily begin, at which point the government would declare Martial Law and all Constitutional rights would be suspended, probably for a very long time.  Property could be confiscated because the taxes to keep it couldn't be paid.  Gun ownership would be a crime.  The government would advise you to enter the nearest FEMA camp to survive.  There you would be given a bed and food, but little else.  Unless you strike out on your own and attempt to survive off the land, you will be 100% dependent on a government that has complete authority over you.

Considering the government is planning on adding another 3.5 Trillion dollars to the national debt right now, and the Federal Reserve is talking about interest rates rising soon, it's easy to see how the government will soon not even be able to pay the interest on the debt and a default will trigger the economic collapse.  Or they could massively raise the taxes you pay for everything, preventing a collapse for a while, until the economy completely fails and nobody can make a living anymore.

Every other type of threat to your safety will become rampant if this scenario materializes.  I seriously believe every other thing the government and the media talks about today is intentional distraction and misdirection, to keep people from realizing how bad the situation is and how close we are to seeing it.  Americans are not paying attention to it at all.

A few years ago I saw a truck with a bumper sticker that may be the most prophetic thing I have ever seen on a sticker.  It said, "AMMO! The currency of the 21st Century."

Safer?????

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that the southern border is wide open, letting everybody and anybody in, including gang members, unvetted terrorists and drug dealers and representatives of drug cartels and fentanyl runners.

But now the Taliban has its own homeland and home to every terrorist organization in the world, and we have lost every hint of intelligence on the ground in that area.

We have handed over all the modern equipment of war to the terrorists so that they can now use it against us or our allies or simply as sales items to raise money to finance more terror activities.

We gave away our energy independence so we are once again slaves to countries that hate our guts?

We have done away with sensible financial practices allowing inflation to run rampant destroying the value of our currency.

We have let the progressives run nearly every aspect of our freedoms and lives with their desire to turn our system of government to socialism.

We have government agencies and branches that are showing they are more crooked than a bunch of thieves

We have major cities that want to defund the police forces.

We have a majority of the news outlets who are simply the public relations arm of the democrat and socialist parties.

We have a blithering idiot as our president who cannot even string words together in an intelligent sentence.

And you ask if we are safer as a nation than we were a year ago. Is there any reason that anyone that has half a brain would ever think we are. Ask this question of the Biden voters and see what kinds of answers you get. This jerk is still getting 30% -40% approval rating. Apparently there are still a lot of people who stumble along quite contented with how things are going.

That is a pretty subjective topic and there really isn't much data to prove either.

I can say my feeling of safety has not changed much over the last 20 years.

I don't even think about it hardly at all.

my statement doesn't even relate to Biden directly. The last 20 years....there were a couple presidents there, both republican and democrats, though only one group won the popular vote, which was it?
