Leftists have shown their hand. You cannot defend yourself.

Does Grouse name call Though ? Being called a Is not the same thing as being called an Assclown: one is a political description/ characterization, the other is a demeaning slur that NEVER could be construed as complimentary.

same difference to me. Just seems like  a workaround. So you would be fine if I called trumpers assclowns?

How about we all stick to civil debate on the issue involved and stop whining about how the issues affect your emotional state of mind?

The name calling starts when someone feels they have no intelligent reply to the facts presented.  The emotionally triggered, resort to ad hominem attacks in an effort to shut down the debate, misdirect the readers, or deflect the facts from being presented on the issue.

If you cannot support your stand on an issue with facts and reason, admit it and stop whining like a child and throwing a childish fit that will get you put in time out.

It's obviously being done in many cases, to shut down discussion of a subject the left doesn't want people talking about.

That being said, our resident "Progressives" might consider what I just wrote to be a personal attack on them, rather than criticism of their character.  It's how they view any opposing opinion, so they can claim it needs to be silenced.  This is a leftist tactic being employed in the entire country, against any opposition to leftist lunacy, and it needs to be battled at every opportunity, lest we surrender to it's destruction.  I'm amused by posts calling me out by name without any examples attached to back up the attacks.  I'm also amused by the calls to eliminate the entire political forum coming from those who seem to be on the leftist side of the political spectrum.

Merely labeling someone who embraces leftist ideology a "leftist" triggers them, because they consider it a derogatory label.  Yet they fail to see how it applies to their ideology.  A "Liberal" is all about freedom and individual rights.  If you advocate bigger government and more control, the elimination of individual rights, higher taxes that do noting for the citizens, governmental socialism, or the suppression of political opposition, you need to be aware of what you support and embrace the leftist label.

Now, I don't see anything I just posted as "know it all", "inflammatory" or "offensive", but I expect the easily offended will.  I won't shy away from any civil debate intellectually challenging what I post, because if I'm wrong I want to be aware of it.  But before I will accept I'm wrong, you have to prove it to me.  Prove me wrong.

P.S.  Calling me names and ad hominem attacks about my persona, doesn't prove me wrong.

P.S.S.  Let's get back to the Rittenhouse trial and what it means to the citizens of the US and our right to defend ourselves, which is what this thread was supposed to be discussing before it was derailed by people who don't want to discuss that.

I've got to ask a question here Mike.  Pardon me while I "ramble".

A leftist is a person who's bent on destroying the America we currently live in.  How is it you expect a person such as this not to be referred to in demeaning terms?  Are we to respectfully tolerate enemies of the state and forces determined to destroy our rights and freedoms?  Should we be referring to them in endearing terms?  Are you advocating we respect their opinions and accept their desire to ruin the country?  Why on earth would you advocate being civil to people who hate what America is and vow to "transform" it, especially when they won't say what that transformation will entail?

I understand your desire to defend them, since you have made it clear in the past you side with them.  BTW, you have been guilty of calling Conservatives demeaning things, including those who think Rittenhouse was well within his rights.

Most likely because the two political ideologies are polar opposites right now.  I don't see how there can be any compromise between a party that supports freedom and one that wants totalitarian rule.

Ain't that the truth

Common sense is a flower that doesn't grow in everyones garden. The middle portion of the political divide is so small its almost non existent.

I think there are more folks in the middle that one might think, myself being one. It’s just that the extremes of both sides are getting all of the oxygen right now and are therefore the noisiest and most visible. I’d wager that most non politicals float somewhere in the center.

I respectfully disagree. I would have agreed 10+ years ago but I don't see how you can be in the middle and support Biden or any democrats these days. I guess there are a few middle of the road people who supported Biden and no longer do according to his pole numbers. For 4 years almost all of us Trumpers or whatever we are called talked about how Trump was an idiot, couldn't keep his mouth shut, needed to quit tweeting. I for one thought it was insane that we were going to pay people more to stay home than they were getting when they worked. That should have never happened IMO. But for the most part, his policies helped the middle class (IMO) my self included. Were they perfect, no but if you are middle of the road, you were far better off before Biden.

Now out of the 6 or 8 maybe 10+ people that supported Biden on this board. I haven't seen a single negative thing posted about him. There is plenty to complain about. Grocery Prices, Heating Prices, Gas Prices, the border, ties to China, Hunter Biden, forcing green energy on us instead of letting that sector expand itself, Afghanistan, transportation, gave away our energy independence, forcing a vaccine that isn't a vaccine etc etc etc. Telling us as parents we have no business in how we educate our kids.  We have a president that isn't aloud to answer questions...that doesn't concern you? Who is running him? How is any of this in the middle?

I remember when you said you had to admit that Trump didn't affect your life day to day. I remember saying i can only hope to say the same thing about Biden although I won't hold my breath.  Well Biden has affected all of our lives negatively in such a short period of time. For me, just between gas and groceries it is about $200 a month. Not to mention the effects on the business I run which will fully trickle down to my bonuses. I haven't gotten a heating bill yet with the cold weather setting in. I fully expect that to be up as well. The only thing not going up is my paycheck.

Look what the real leftest democrats want to do...NYC is about to let illegals VOTE????? I mean that is insane. Where is that in the middle? You look at other liberal cities where we are defunding the police, don't have bail, reforming our laws to help criminals...How is that in the middle?  Look at California, where stores are closing because people are just aloud to come and shoplift....all they want, no repercussions at all. How is that in the middle?  The guy that drove his car through the Christmas Parade should have never been out of jail. How about all those family members that lost loved ones right before the holiday, for no reason other than liberal politics that help the criminals?

Now of course this is all my opinion so none of it matters, but when you are pulling that lever and voting for a democrat, IMO you are saying you are ok with all of that.....

I hope you don't find any of this disrespectful. You are one of 4 people i have met on this forum and i really think you are a great guy and i wish you nothing but the best. We just see thing differently.....

Curious, How has your life improved under Biden?

Maybe 10 years ago I leaned a little more center, still do on a few things as I just don't care about some matters enough to get my boxer briefs in a twist about them. I really don't care of a guy likes to eat bananas or a woman likes to play on the carpet. A few other things as well, like wearing a mask if I have to, I don't feel it's a violation of any freedom that actually matters in the grand scheme of things.

I have always had issues with how the left acts on some topics and the tantrums they play when it doesn't go just how they want it to, but the right does the same thing.

But the left doesn't seem to value my core values. So I stand on the right.

I do care about letting people into this country and letting them have a ton of free money, bring criminal activities here, and are treated better then US citizens. I also care about my 2A rights in which the left seem to be the biggest party trying to take them away. Health insurance was always a PITA, then Obama made that so bad even doctors didn't like the dude. The left is pretty much responsible for this new age race war we have going on, they are/have been pushing this agenda and have been pushing it hard since the prior mentioned anal discharge was in office. The left defunded police and military, and are doing it again. Prices on everything go up when a democrat is in office most of the time. I could go on, but i don't want to argue, just get some points across.

Biden? OMG! This guy is even hated by his own party, far more then trump ever was/is. He's done nothing, and I mean nothing good for this country, and it will only get worse. You can't strand our Troops and civilians in a terrorist country and think that will end well for your political career. I can't, talking or even thinking about Biden makes my eye twitch and I grind my teeth.

Not disrespectful at all Chris. I hope you know I have the same feelings about you, and they are valid questions and points.

Just as a point of reference, I switched from being a lifelong Democrat to being an Independent shortly before the 2020 election. This decision came because I got tired of being expected to defend positions I didn’t necessarily  hold because my voter card put me under their umbrella.

I think I’ve said on here before, but I’ve been disappointed in Biden. I was hopeful that he would be able to deliver on his promised “unity”, but that hasn’t been the case thus far.
Add on all of the current events, and of course I’m disappointed. I’m hopeful that things turn around, partially because it’s what best, but if I’m being honest, a lot of that hope comes from not wanting to be wrong. The same as I’m sure that if a lot were honest , they hope for him to fail for the same reason. I guess that’s just human nature.

However, I don’t regret casting my vote for what I thought was the right decision, I’d much rather that than cast my vote for something I didn’t feel was right only because others told me that my feelings were wrong. I’d much rather think for myself and be wrong than let others dictate my wrong and right. I also don’t regret not voting for Donald Trump. I guess that’s just how deep my dislike of the man runs, and if I’m wrong in that, then I’ll happily wear it on my sleeve.

Ultimately, my life has improved since Biden took office, but the same way it improved during Trump, I think it’s neither because of or in spite of. I know a lot of other people can’t say the same, but that’s just where I’m at personally. Little of what Biden has done or hasn’t done has impacted the quality of my life, same as it did during Trump. I hope that answers your questions.

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving man, hopefully we can get together sometime.

Just one final thing, and not for you Chris. I’m already regretting posting in this forum, I really don’t want to get sucked into more discussions or get brow beat because someone doesn’t agree with me. So, I’m going to bow out now before anyone decides they want to argue, I’m not interested. If someone wants to pick apart my perspective, go ahead, but I’ll quote Bobby Bare, “I quit, I lose, you’re the winner” :)

Thanks Chris, I’m hopeful I can get in a few sits over the long weekend. I left my climber out tonight, so I at least have to make one more trip :)

Voting for Biden because one "hoped" he would unify the country, was a choice that ignored all of the evidence available to the electorate.  The man has a 50 year record of tearing the country apart, corruption and lying to the people.  To think he wouldn't continue to do the same as President was an emotional decision that denied all logic.

Biden was placed in the WH two ways.  Too many people didn't look at the reality of his becoming President, and many fraudulent votes were counted to give him a win.

Now we must deal with the consequences of a President ruining the country and forcing the left's will on all of us with threats of mandates, violence and riots from the minions he commands among us.  Biden is weaponizing all agencies of the government, from the IRS to the CDC, against the citizens.  We will do as we are told or be destroyed by the government using whatever power it has to do so.

This is exactly what happened in the Rittenhouse trial and exactly what will continue to happen to Rittenhouse in the future.

If the left could do this to a sitting President, Rittenhouse, Sandman and the McCloskeys, believing it won't do it to you at every chance, is naive and foolish.

Voting for Biden insured all of this government oppression would happen.  Too many Americans didn't think this through when they were thinking for themselves without investigating the facts.

No. Go back and reference “assclown”. I just quoted his latest post.

Let’s clarify the rules. How was that worthy of suspension without warning? Either a**clown is not as benign and funny an insult as I think it is, or you failed to notice that the statement you quoted was in fact also a quote.

You have been here a short time, and been warned but continue the name calling, etc. Keep it up and you’ll end up with a permanent vacation.
