No deer drives allowed on our property( we own 940,acres in hamilton county ny &,we allow exactly 5 people to hunt it at certain times that I dictate where and when ). Anyone of the 5 we allow to hunt  even thinks about asking or trying to organize a drive will be escorted off and if caught coming back on property I WILL HAVE THEM ARRESTED,  I have no use for deer drives  I do not believe in forcing deer to move  drives are for the lazy useless hunter that doesn't want to WORK for his deer  get off your ass scout , pattern learn the deer's movements

That’s pretty serious .Don’t agree with you one bit .Lazy ?that I’m not and I like deer drives .

I agree that it's not lazy. I think he may have been alluding to the guy that only goes out once or twice a year and it's a deer drive where he sits. This is the kind of guy that will get an eye roll for me, but I also understand to each his own. If deer camp is about drinking too much with your buddies and going out at 1:00 for a push or two, then that's cool. You're buying a tag and helping the cause. You're just in a different class of "hunter" than some, but that's ok.

I spend as much time in the woods as anyone and will bet I put on more miles than any 2 guys on here but I love our long weekend at camp when a group of buddies come up and we drink too much and hunt too little. I don’t think it has anything to do with a class of hunter.

That dude is an obvious jabroni. 90% of Hamilton county is public land. If someone chose to deal with him to hunt his tiny piece then they’re obviously too lazy to find a spot on public.

His property and he can do what he wants on it. I don't think anyone is disagreeing with that, it's more of the fact that he was a little over the top with the statements.

I have not done or been on a deer drive in years. I see nothing wrong with them tough. When I was a kids, we would sit in the morning then drive in the afternoon. Us kids would drive and the adults would be the standers. It was fun, as for being the lazy that’s not true. It’s a lot harder to put on a drive then to sit in a stand all day.

The land owner sets the rules on there property. If you’re invited onto someone’s land you better follow their rules weather you like them or not you have the option not to hunt there.

I think my hip, problems today can be traced to,our drives in the 90s . Sit till,9 drive till 3, then sit again .

Thing Was the drives required walking miles often through plowed up muddy farm fields , pounds of mud on each boot ,and many times I’d stop to try and pull my foot free, which I’d feel in the hip, joint .

Drives were way more fun then sitting in a tree , we knew where they’d run,the action was outstanding .

My absolute favorite buck is a litlle 7 pt my 14 y/o daughter pushed out of ditch and I dropped on a full out run .

Exactly. Some of us would rather really hunt and take mature bucks one on one on their turf and really accomplish something when successful. Drives to me is akin to pushing them with dogs. Not really a lot of skill involved in that game. A piece of property will be void of deer if pushed enough so sooner or later the deer will be exposed
