you guys want to come all this way for Jerkman's Jerky that has been sitting in a plastic bag since 2011?

I'll bring this to wash down the jerky and keep Jay well hydrated!

At home we have two cast iron skillets, large and small.  Ours are probably 100 years old and we use the large one at least once a week.   Our daughter wants one and my wife wants to get it for Christmas.  Any recommendations on a quality piece we can get her?

Larry, I saw Lodge at BJ's yesterday, IIRC 12" cast iron pan was like $22.00? Does that sound right?

Sounds like a good price for sure.  Unfortunately I ordered one from Amazon with a lid the other day.

Last week I was gifted an old Griswold 12” pan from my nieghbor.  She had 5 or 6 of them and was selling them at a garage sale, but wouldn’t name a price.  When she moved out, she left it for me as a gift.  (I just had to pay for the house and the land!)  No rust or cracks, but it is filthy.  I’ll be cleaning it up and adding it to the rotation soon.

So I’ll say this it doesn’t matter what skillet you buy it’s all about how you take care of it

Make sure it is well seasoned to start that is the most important thing.

After you know that it is… washing with warm not hot water and gentle soap is fine just use a non scratch sponge.. then make sure it is dry as can be.

Put back on the stove with a tiny bit of oil and coat it and rub in.
