I got one today..is it really May 15 and this is my first trout on a fly? The weather has been tough but my schedule has been worse!
Anyone want to explain the “fingerprints” on this stockie? Pic take without me touching it!

Only a branch, some fishing line, and a sinker (which I disposed of the in the trash can).  Same as last fall, I didn’t even have a bite on the jigs.   Nobody else was fishing, but a guy walking a dog said that bloodworms work good for bait, but to watch out for the eels and catfish.  My lifetime record, of zero fish of any kind caught in the Hudson, remains intact.

There were lots of Canada geese around and some young ones are hatched.  A sign on the docks said to beware of tics.  It was a bit cool out there at sunrise, I should have brought a warmer shirt or a light jacket.

I hear that Jerkman guy used green line and 4oz sinkers. Probably his. Last year he donated probably 50 bucks worth of gear to that spot.

Hey everyone!  I took my 9 year old out for the second time so far, and he was hammering the rock bass on Oneida.  He also managed to get a decent bullhead out from under the docks.  He for sure out fishes me, he’s also comfortable taking most of the fish off the hook and putting them back in the water.

They where real picky this morning. There was a whitish fly with two long tails popping out of the water. Once I picked the right fly the where inhaling it. Stopped by the brown trout area but it was a dude.

This was the fly coming out of the water. I just realized I was using the same fly from the other day but a little bigger.

Fly on the table looks like a color variation of the humpy fly pattern. Usually  tied with a cream to brown body . I have never seen or tied them with a green or gray body.
