Thanks to @Real TC for the honey hole info. Kids had a blast....bunch of hook ups with none landed. Kids learned how tough fishing can be.75baf950cd02e07a7239a26509e93910.jpge055580960bb9de2078e50f3ef2865a4.jpg

I caught around (25) smallmouth and (1) 12” perch so far this Holliday weekend up in the Adirondacks.  I finally got a “legal” 20-1/2” bass this evening on a 1/8 oz bucktail jig.    She went back in with all the rest of the bass. I am looking for at least a 22” to mount. That was the last 1/8 oz bucktail jig that I had and I lost it on a snag shortly after landing the big bass.

I will have to get by with 1/4 and 1/16 oz jigs on our last morning tomorrow.  Also got 5 or 6 on a top water bait this morning (Zara puppy), and about the same number trolling a silver hot-n-tot after the sw wind picked up.

The perch is in a fish cage at the dock, and if I get another in the morning, I will fillet them for my mother in law.

Is 201/2" just for that lake? I thought it was 15" state wide. I'm getting my little 10' jon boat ready for the 15th Bass or any fish on topwater is a blast.

I believe that 20” year round applies to lakes Erie & Ontario, and the St Lawrence and Niagara rivers only.

Caught my personal best striped bass last night on a live eel in the great South Bay. 50 inch fish

The other guy in the pics is a Good Samaritan who climbed down the rocks to grab the fish while I kept tension on the line.

Fish was released safely back into the water

I fished my way to Elmira for the HS golf tournament I fished my yesterday. Got two on the Beaverkill and then the guys above on the West Branch (@Chef special!)
The bugs were crazy last (sulphurs, drakes, coffin flies) and the fish were active...but just not for anything I threw at them.

I was with a friend on one of the unstocked Cohocton tribs and he caught a tiger...

Mill Creek near Perkinsville also has some, but I have never caught one there, or anywhere for that matter..

Reading up on tiger trout .. apparently it can occur naturally in waters inhabited by brookies and browns . Although they are sterile.  Can only occur with a female brown to male brookie. Brown trout milt is to big to fertilize brooktrout eggs.

I imagine its possible a stocked fish could have gotten washed into the river system from a stocked pond during a flood .

That doesn’t look like a tiger to me. Here’s a Tiger I caught like 10 years ago in CT. I think if CrappyIce emailed his pic to NYS Fishing Biologist they’ll say it’s a Brook trout

I guess I don't know then . At first glance I thought lake trout ... the pattern on the sides seem long . Fish look different from different waters . Dont know exactly where the op fish was taken so guess we might never know for sure.  I still say tiger trout  as best educated  guess.

They definitely vary by water for sure. I know the local SENY reservoirs vary for lake trout. Certain waters they are blue-ish and others are green-ish

Hey everyone.  A chilly start this morning.  Carter and I took our little boat out on the Seneca River.  We both pulled in 22 fish.  He keeps count let me tell ya!  Mostly dinks, sunnies and rock bass. But he hauled in a nice LMB using worms and a drop shot.
