Got a ground blind up there Biz? Would you shoot that bear if it comes thru?

No ground blind. I rarely use a ground blind besides 1 particular spot on my Dad’s land. Maybe 3-4 sits per year.

Not allowed to shoot bears in CT. Probably why we are overrun with them. I’d love to Shoot it though

It looks to still be in velvet to me... the antlers still have that "soft" appearance and I don't see any reflections... good looking buck though!

Yup. I think he’s the 8 that moved into area last December after we killed 2 bucks. Same high G2’s and he was only buck over 1.5 on cam in December and he was everywhere on 5 different cams and now again but I’ll check other cams 9/15 to confirm

Sit # 1.

CT - Spotted a lone doe at 55yds and she didn’t take the route in front of browning cam. But ultimately she still had to come towards me to get down Funnel to lower ridge. Video was 27yds. She never saw me. Too bad not 10pt. She wasn’t with the split ear doe and fawn that she’s with sometime. sat 530am till 10am.

Surrounded by oaks and pines but DOnt see any acorns. It’s way windier than I thought it would be. Tomorrow morning looks 10° cooler but i couldn’t hunt tomorrow.

Heading to NY land now to check cams and spots then head back to CT for PM hunt.

Went to Dad’s land in NY for 3 hours. Checked cams, cut some branches etc. 2 spikes (one broken) and the shooter 8pt are all on 5 different cams spread throughout the property. Also a nice bobcat, some yotes and a Tom Turkey.

Or maybe he doesn’t always walk in front of your camera.   Maybe yesterday and the day before he went around it somehow?

Oh, For sure. Just funny he’s every 11-15 days while the same 2 does and 1 fawn are almost daily. He clearly has a different routine than them.

Still only buck on cam this year in CT. So weird

We will have to do a toast to Texas of Yeager in Chicago for our 8’s this fall: F4935164-BAD8-437E-A9A7-4B223E0030F1.thumb.jpeg.e2bad1e86677e5d7b533ecde38cb8fab.jpeg

Yours is not lined up quite as well in the picture. You better move your blind about 10 yards to the left of the camera.

9/30: Hunter CT with Dad from dark till 11am. No deer seen by either of us. I saw 1 raccoon.

Lower ridge cam where i hunted had the same 2 does and 1 fawn. And the 10pt same day as cell cam. No other deer besides these 4 so far.
