blackbeltbill
Are you kidding me! 1 gallon of Spring Water that is normally 99 cents has jumped up to $1.59! Single Yogurts that used to sell for 59 cents is no less then 75 cents now. Even Bread is soaring up in Price. 24 Hour Walmarts now Closing at 11pm. The Dollar Tree Chain now sells every item for $1.25. Signs of the Times,I Guess. I always mentally tabulate my price totals as,I shop. I reach $100 Bucks much faster now. Just Saying. knehrke
So, I assume that you are suggesting we should convert to a socialist society to control prices? Not sure I can support that...but to each his own lol. 1

Nomad
A well stocked panty helps smooth out , shortages and price increases. The shelves are full at my house . Much of the local shortages seem to be the result of worker shortages , from truck drivers to shelf stockers , according to members of some nationwide forums I’m on as it’s spotty not nationwide at this point . Some non food items like say toothpaste and soap, have no shelf life, and take up little room , some have a lifetime of these . As far as food store what you eat, eat what you store . One scary perhaps foreshadowing thing is, a reporter asked Binden if the Fed Gov should take over food pricing and distribution. While showing ones vaccine card to get your ration coupon ,may not be around the corner yet the fact some are thinking in that direction should perhaps stir some to get ahead of things for once . After the oil change this morning I’ll be at the grocery store , and BJs wholesale club this afternoon .

Yep , so many put a deer or three in their freezer and that’s it , well it’s as simple as matching that with non perishable foods on a couple sets of shelves . If you look where the profit margins jump in the chain, is not at the farmer level.
