Apparently, none of the neighbors had known of the deer. It was found lying in a creek with one if the hind legs tangled up in an old fence.

I've always said that there are legally unkillable deer that no one knows exist.  Extremely rare and unlikely, but possible.

More likely than we think imo. I find 1 shed a year at least of a mature deer I've never seen.

Switched to beach glass hunting today . Good haul , a few I can make into jewelry, but mostly smalls, some good colors though .

Shed hunting tomorrow, Although I got all, those pieces in less then an hour , a bit more rewarding.

Back out today, looking to end it with something big. I got permission this morning from a landowner that just got home from his winter leave...

Found 3 more, including my two biggest of the spring and new all time largest shed. Unfortunately, that one was from last year...not too chewed up. Scores 69.5, even with chewed up tine tips, beam tip and broken brow.  The G2 was 12.25 inches. He was probably around 165 or a little better as a 10pt in 2020 and probably close to 170 in '21. He made it through season again but no luck on this year's sheds. This antler was found about 2 miles from where the trail camera pictures were taken on family property.

That's a brute. Let me ask you opinion, do you count deadheads in your count? If so is it for each antler? What do you do with the deadheads if you don't cut the antlers off?

No, I don't count them. I bring them home if they're decent but leave all the little ones out in the woods where I found them.

Hoping this guy doesn't go downhill as he's obviously fully mature here last fall...

Does that deer daylight much? I find mature bucks don't do much daylight movement near us. I think you have to sneak into prime bedding to see daylight movement. Tricky animals.

I'm in cny and we have plenty of deer to go around. May be not quite the same as wny but pretty good hunting here.

Tompkins County certainly produces it's share of quality bucks. You probably have a higher density deer herd than I have in my area in Steuben County. I actually headed out to the Ithaca area to work again today. I always keep my eyes open for road sheds on the way out. The people out that way, well that's a different story all together...

One of my cousins was getting a lot of daylight pictures of him towards  mid to late September this past year. He must have been really close to his bedding area cuz he was getting like 4:30 in the afternoon

Lol, yeah putting it politely. The extreme vegan liberals protect my herd. Lol.

Man that's a stud buck. They smell october 1st when they get that large. I can only assume human presure and presence just sets them off to super safety.

#20, mile 90, was hoping to hit 20 this year. Another public land buck. Long beautiful walk yesterday, learning and burning. Been a fun year so far!!! Also dropping game cam bombs all over, have 9 out right now soaking till last couple days of the month.
