  Old Gobbler is also active all year.

 And njwoodsandwaters is absolutely  Rocking in the Turkey Forum right now. In fact many Forums as many more members on that sight are regular  posters including the Owner who tried to contact burmjohn here about Buying this site.

  Hate to say- but this Site is waning away. Not Dying yet- but close.

Getting back to the original topic that asked, "Who do you Y'All miss?", I have to say that the one member that used be the most prolific poster with the most challenging topics is Growalot. There was another young man that was quite involved for a while. His name was: josephmrtn. And then there was Sweet old Bill....(SOB). 

As one of the charter members, I'm not on here as much anymore, primarily because I have been a member for so long that most of the topics have become repeats. I suspect that a lot of people have faded away because there really are not all that many topics that are new and exciting or things that people get passionately excited about.

Regarding the political section of the forum, I think a lot is really being made out of nothing. I have to purposely scroll down to access it, I am not forced to go there. If I found that section to be offensive, it would be very easy for me to stay out of there. I suspect that that part of the forum was created to discuss political hunting, fishing, and trapping and other outdoor issues that are influenced by government and other political forces. I can't say that for sure, but the fact is that it grew into what the members wanted it to be. None of the threads from there are ever listed in Index page under the heading of recent posts. I remember when it was decided not to list them there because of all the "sensitivity" surrounding that section of the forum. So now none of the political topics show up anywhere on the home page.

I think that rather than struggling to find reasons to complain, it would be much more productive to start posting and give other people reasons to join. I do miss those times when people started threads about things that they were passionate about. That is the way that this forum will continue to grow and prosper.

I rarely used to, but I often wear a mask outdoors now. Especially during the bow season and Spring turkey season. I also wear a fleece mask when it's cold outside sometimes, when it's 0* with the wind even my beard doesn't keep my face warm. I'm none of the things you mention, and the day I eat a soy burger is the day the Hell freezes over. Most of us wear masks while hunting, so I guess then many of us have to leave. Yep I picked up on as soon as she posted. I told several people to just wait for the bullshit stories to start. Didn’t take long.
I think she upgraded her technology though as she less incoherent posts, maybe she traded her kindle for a smart flip phone.

That last part is funny stuff, LOL. I'm not a member there, but will browse once in a while, it was easy to pick up. If she's happier there, more power to her. I wish her no ill will, and if she were to come back here, It wouldn't bother me. There's a lot of people here I respect, you're one of them when you're not calling me an idiot for cracking a dumb joke.

 

 

 

Like I already said, those people who have moved on did so for reasons of their own, if they come back great, if not that's fine too. I wish someone would get a hold on the dufusses with 2 or more accounts, especially the ones who argue with themselves.

njwoodsandwaters does have a well used Political  Forum. There are just so many members who Post regularly  that Polictics on that site takes a 2nd seat to Hunting,Fishing,Sports,Health + Fitness and others

I'm a member of a few sites where if you bring politics into the forum, the threads gone, and you get a warning. Two warnings and you're gone. They are some of the best forums I belong to, far less "debating" and far more talk of what the topic is. One of them is an art site, and even they won't tolerate it. Two others won't even tolerate talking about the latest TV show or sports.

2 of those 3 are dedicated turkey forums Bill, come on man. I recall you posting stuff in November in the middle of the whitetail rut, I'm sorry man but I don't have turkey on the brain then even if you do. Just like deer hunting isn't your thing, I hope you understand that not every turkey hunter has the same drive that you do. This applies to all hunting and fishing, we all put various levels of interest and dedication into it. 

I will agree with you that this site isn't very active anymore and I think we've beat that horse to death on why, but if it bears repeating it's a non-active owner and political garbage.

Belo- The Deer,Bow,+ Crossbow Forums are all still active....

 I certainly  am not saying anything against that.
