He henned up and shut down. Was roosted probably 125 from me. Hen stopped yelping too.

Last years bird was 24-25, my biggest ever. I know the scale is a POS but it weighs a 45lb plate accurately

Had 4 hens all come through close at different times. 2 came back few minutes ago. He’s off 150-175 and gobbled just once more now. Deer was blowing at me and hens got little spooked .

I have lost count of how many gobblers I’ve killed and have weighed all but a few on an antique grain scale and have killed one that was a hair over 24 and many in the 19-20 range but 26 is an absolute once in a lifetime trophy in my experience!!

I've had my hands on hundreds of dead gobblers over the past 30+ yrs and all get weighed on some certified meat hanging scales at my family butcher shop. Only a handful have cracked the 23 mark with the family record hitting 23.5...many 21-22 pounders though. A true 26 pounder would be crazy!

PS: There has never been a 200# dressed deer weighed here either. Many so called 200 pounders have dropped to 175 after actually being weighed...lol

Cat n mouse with occasional gobble. He’s farther , he’s closer , he’s …etc. .

They aren’t the easiest things to weigh.  Regular postage type scales don’t work well and I don’t trust the old fishing scales.

I weight myself on the my home scale . The did it again holding the turkey . Then subtracted my weight  came to 26.1

 Before  Cynthia weighed her Gobbler-- I Hefted it. Never felt a Gobbler that Heavy and,I killed some 23 pounders.  I have killed more then my share. 

   I knew it would go at least 24lbs and,I was underestimating it.

 Cynthia's  Gobbler was a Beast and most definitely  26lbs.

I was out yesterday for the first time this year. Heard some gobbles, saw 5 deer and it was a beautiful morning. Other than dealing with DEC because they got a call that people were in the woods, all in Camo and carrying guns! He was a nice guy and seemed annoyed at the call. All was good accept my back tag was still on my backpack from deer season and i didn't have it with me. He didn't give me a ticket which i thanked him for cause i deserved it...
