  1. for every elk recovered with that shot choice ten will be mortally wounded with few recoveries.
  2. "Affordable " Health Care Act. yes, affordable for millions who didn't have it. they pay nothing and taxpayers get tagged for the balance. oh, and don't forget another thing about the people who Obama is having you pay their medical; they don't pay any taxes either. sounds fair?
  3. price drop: Prices: 5 x 7 = $20 8 x 10 = $40 11 x 14 = $65 square formats: 8 x 8 = $35 10 x 10 =$45 shipping free
  4. I heard from a rep at Gander Mountain that our wonderful government now controls the distribution of the most common caliber rounds. gotta love Washington.
  5. when your a superman the time will never come when you will need a crossbow to stay in the game. everyone else can just sit out.
  6. Part 2 ( I could only list 10 pictures per post) for sale: my "best of the best" trail cam pictures in print. I have taken the best of what I have captured over the years and am offering them for sale to the public. most photos were captured with high quality Panasonic and Sony homebrew trail cam units. note: for security reasons the photos have been downsized to a small file 570 x 428 pixel size at 57 DPI. the viewing quality on your monitor might be less than what a resized 1024 x 768 photo would look like, but prints will be in the highest resolution. the "Duck Wild Photos" watermark will not be present on the prints but there are text edit options available such as date and time of capture and species name. a smaller version of the watermark strategically placed is also available. I have purchased an Epson printer and will be printing in formats up to 11 x 14 inches. Premium presentation matte finish paper is what I normally use but we can talk about other paper requests. most photos are standard 4 to 3 ratio landscape prints with print sizes including 5 x 7, 8 x 10, and 11 x 14 but other size requests can be considered. Owl photo is a 4 to 3 ratio portrait format while Raccoon photo and the following "head up" drake wood duck photo are square formats where frame sizes are commonly found. these can be printed in any size the most common being 8 x 8 or 10 x 10 inches. Sales would be on a "made to order" basis and require a varying time frame as to when they can be printed, packaged and shipped. Bear with me as I still work a full time job, but will address any time concerns to the best of my ability. Prices: 5 x 7 = $20 8 x 10 = $45 11 x 14 = $75 square formats: 8 x 8 = $40 10 x 10 =$50 shipping free just let me know by Pm if you are interested. thanks, mike (ny)

  8. the Bushnell Trophy cam is a very safe option. the 2011 cam model 119436c was a real goodie and can still be had on E-bay for $140. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bushnell-119436C-8MP-Trophy-Cam-Brown-Night-Vision-Trail-Camera-/331131927387?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d19003b5b
  9. Oh yea, non Bowtech shooters aren't very bright and just flat out wrong; so there
  10. In retrospect, I realized he was actually kidding and you are spot on with respect to the inconsistencies in arrow entry angles as a result of the target medium. What must also be considered is prior shots to that entry spot and what the previous angle of entry was, which would affect the next arrow entry. I just don't get why a guy would hate on what works fine for someone else to the point of insulting your hunting brothers. We're all in this battle together folks. We shouldn't be cannibalizing our own for the sake of " I'm right, you're wrong"; and that goes for crossbows too. I prefer a Bowtech compound. OK, green light for all you Mathews and Hoyt guys.
  11. are you serious, or just kidding? One of my hunting buddies has shot a 3 arrow group at 70 yards that he could wrap his index finger and thumb around. He also shoots spectacular groups at 80 yards. I have also witnessed guys grouping arrows at 100 and beyond while practicing on the range during one of my western Elk hunts. Just because you have never witnessed this high level of marksmanship doesn't mean it doesn't occur. In fact it occurs quite often, so folks shouldn't be so quick to judge others.
  12. amazing how quick guys on this site insult their hunting brothers. here we have another (shawnhu) who doesn't really think before jumping to insulting conclusions. I have an arrow or 2 in my quiver that aren't straight after incurring damage, but they still work just fine for backyard practice. When group shooting it is also quite common for an arrow to deflect of others, but "shawnfu" would would rather make a declaration that WB shooters don't shoot a tuned bow. Priceless stuff from a real hater. You might as well be a cannibal, since you eat your own.
  13. anyone who thinks that the contact between vanes and biscuit has a significant effect on arrow flight at bowhunting distances is very misinformed. shot this 40 yard group tonight with a WB. enough said!
  14. I 2nd that. I bought one of those Camtrakkers. yep, $400 and I normally had to travel from hunt camp to develop the roll of film which normally had about 30 pictures on it. boy how times have changed. though I don't miss that, it still was pretty cool for it's time.
  15. normally anywhere from $200 to $300 ranging by model and new or used. go to Camtrapper.com and there are guys there that build and sell. you also might look up "12RINGER". he might still be in the business. he used to sell them as "Ringercams". I would also do a search on homebrew trailcams and there will be many sources where there is info on builds. where you find that you should also find guys that build and sell them.
  16. thanks all. most of the higher quality shots are from Panasonic and Sony compact digitals built into trail cam units called "homebrews". anyone can buy one from guys that build and sell them.
  17. these are also from july and august:
  18. I mixed in 3 Bushnell pics (twin fawn, bear, and fox) with the homebrew pics.
  19. looks like a good spot where a buck would scent the overhanging branch.
  20. looks like three in one pic. maybe mom and kits? a coon is a tough animal.
  21. nice game plan that worked like a charm. super buck as well.
