  1. I know this thread is a couple years old, but figured it's worth a try. I live in WNY, but I'm completely unfamiliar with alleghany state park. I've been looking for a lease during this archery season to fill my bear tag with no luck. I have permission for plenty of properties to fill my deer tags, so I'm not too worried about that. I was hoping someone can give me some advice on whether or not it would be worth driving down to Alleghany State Park to try and take a bear or if I would just be wasting my time? I have experience hiking miles into deep woods, so that isn't an issue at all either. I'm just unfamiliar with the area and I'm looking to take my first bear. Any help and/or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
