  1. I lasted till the first idiot said he was a supporter of president Obama, didnt need to see any more than that.
  2. They are very large in size as well. Every hookup was nothing short of a big fish. I personally do not keep any. Living on this river my whole life you lose the taste for these things in a hurry lol.
  3. Fished this afternoon, river is full of salmon right up to Altmar, unbelievable I fished by myself and the closest guy was 100 yards plus away.
  4. Another problem is with some cams, computers and cameras you cannot use an sdhd card in them. Sometimes new technology just is a pain in the arse cause your new cam might read sdhd cards but your computer and or camera viewer you use may not. When the first sdhd trail cam went up in my woods I had to upgrade my camera and my computer just to see what the heck was on the pictures. I have read a hundred times people having this problem and cant figure out why. So if your buying new cams make sure to match them up with your reader on your computer or picture viewer your using. If you have older systems chances are you willl have to use the old plain SD cards instead of the new SDHD cards.
  5. Grow I had a Moultrie that would mess up the sd card all the time. I would check pictures on it and never delete them, put the card back in and bam it would read zero pictures on it yet if you pulled it out and stuck it back in the camera the pictures were there. Later on it would just delete the darn pictures and I would get sd error messages and all sorts of crap. Its wasnt the card either cause I use it in another cam with no problems. I dont think anyone actually deleted them but rather your camera is glitching out on you. It drove me nuts till one day I got so mad I smashed it against a tree and the problem was solved.
  6. All I can say is the next time someone brings yuenglings to camp it will be the last time they come to camp. There is nothing better than a good stout beer. The darker the beer the better!
  7. If you didnt have a mortgage on it is, but you guys have to factor in your total payments with interest on those loans. Then add in all your tax payments did you guys really make out better than sticking it in a bank? 10 years of taxes at 2800 is more than the return on your investment.
  8. From now on when I feel the need to complain about taxes on 100 acres I will just re-read this post. YIKES your paying much more on 900sc ft than I am for close to 100 acres. That is absolutely insane.
  9. All the rain and the latest stent of cool nights since my last post I was very surprised there are not more fish in the river.
  10. Are we talking Northern zone Rifle or Southern Zone rifle? Two different scenarios.
  11. The small early run from 2 weeks ago is long gone. Fished Sunday and there was more dead belly up salmon floating downstream than live ones going upstream. Water temps are too high and is proving fatal to lots of those early running salmon. Gates opened up Sunday and heavy rain today should bring a fresh run up and cool the water a bit. I would not make a special trip up at this time, wait another week or two if any one is itching to come up.
  12. Yeah imagine how all the golfers feel about 4 times a week LMAO
  13. I hear ya, seems just about anything triggers some of them. I gave up on the video myself, nothing like eating up sd cards with leaves falling, branches and grass blowing in the wind or better yet tons of footage of rain falling lol.
  14. Cotton Hanlon is a great group and have been nothing but professional with us. Bob is a member on here as well. Another source that I get daily emails from (per request on my part) is Basecampleasing.com they have a few pretty nice areas up for lease in NY right now and there price is fair.
  15. Yeah October is the big month, lots of salmon and some steelies starting to mix in. Once the steelhead are in the river that is when the real fishing begins, not the flossing fishing lol.
  16. In August on the river? I have lived on this river my whole life and never heard nor have I ever had 50 hookup days in August. Mid to late September yep August nope. Even last year after a record run year nope.
  17. 50 hookups a day? I have to question that one.
  18. Why do you think he picked Joe Biden as vice president? He knew he was safe lmao.
  19. Ummm Yeah Okay Biz. Anyways yes they are running, but limited. I seen a few out back by the trestle and the neighbors have been fishing hard at the ball park and doing very well. Dont expect to sit on one spot and be into fish all day yet, plan on some searching and you will find fish. Nice fresh and silver. From the ones I have seen so far they are pretty hefty in size for this early run. Nows the time to beat the crowds and get into fresh fish. Come sept 27 its time to get off the water and in the stands. It works out really well here, when our bow season hits thats when the river starts to get over crowded.
  20. I have witnessed that same thing about 4 years ago with a 6 point tracking down a spike. There really was no snort like I seen on those hunting shows it was all wheeze and it sure does sound like a sneeze. That 6 would make that sound about every 10 yards or so. The easiest way to mimic that sound and it does work to draw in an out of reach buck is to make a fist with your hand, put the thumb side against your mouth and blow hard into it. Its fooled a buck or two over the years but I only use it when one is locked up and I have a visual on him. Those bleat calls or cans have cost me more spooked bucks than any other choice of calling or rattling. It works on inmature deer but every time I have used one on a mature buck they haul tail to the next county. I no longer own one.
  21. HUH? How does it cost more per your other post I agreed 30 minutes per side on rotor, you say for tops on ball joints 50,you should notice you are just about spot on with those too. Rotor you claim 15 to 75. Add your math and you will see your downstate price is almost the same or even higher depending on if you use your 15 dollar or 75 dollar, so heck go in the middle at 45 and your downstate price is still higher. So how does everything upstate cost more? Seems to me its either the same or cheaper lmao.
  22. Just did ball joints. uppers 59x2 lowers 48x2 + 17 in tax. Free balljoint press rental. 4 hours of my time. Thats 227 just for parts if doing it yourself add 150 for realignment =337 and no rotors added yet. For a garage to do this work @ 75 for 4 hours labor = 300 plus realignment cost at 150. Guess what your at 677 bucks and havent bought rotors yet. If a ford your chances of buying just a rotor are small as last one I owned rotor and wheel bearing was one assembly. Which is a big reason why I will never own another lol. New mid of the line rotor 35 each. Garage should take 2 hours tops for all 4 rotors, 30 minutes a wheel is another 150. Total outlook on DIY cost 477 Total outlook on hired labor cost plus parts 967 And for the record replacing upper and lower ball joints is no where as easy or simple as a rotor. Rotor you pull tire and caliper and done. Ball joints, pull tire, caliper and hang it, pull rotor unhook steering knuckle, pull hub assembly, press out lower balljoint, press out upper balljoint or entire upper control arm, press in new lower balljoint, press in or replace upper control arm, put hub assembly back on, put steering knuckle back on,put rotor back on, put caliper back on,torque all nuts and bolts back to spec then drive to garage to have it aligned so your tires dont scalp. Yeah that is easier than replacing a rotor and how in the world is a machinist going to press out your bearing unless you remove the entire lower a-arm and bring it to him? That entails a great deal of extra work, sway bars, torsion bars, shocks and on and on. Or a tow truck. lol
  23. It absolutely works, have had great success rattling, not only can it draw in bucks but it has also drawn in many curious does as well over the years. Do not go ape crazy, do not go get the biggest set of antlers, throw the plastic crap ones in the garbage, take a few of the dowels out of the rattle bags and make it realistic not television unrealistic, incorporate ground noise like leaf shuffling, branches etc and you will have success You wont rattle in deer every time and do not burn out an area doing it every hunt. If you have spooked a particular buck your hunting after a rattling sequence you can forget using that technique on him again. It works throughout the whole season as well. Pay strong attention to your downwind location, be very scent cautious, dont expect a buck to come running in although it does happen on occasion and for the best advice I can give dont expect to fool a bucks ears 20 feet up a tree rattling away cause I do believe most all bucks know deer do not hang out in the tree branches to spar lol. Done right it works without doubt.
