  1. Sorry-this is the one my father has. I have more pics.
  2. It seems like the damned thing just contradicts itself. Just called the Dutchess County Sheriff-they think it's total nonsense.
  3. Is a background check still required on guns as old as the Springfields?
  4. Hi, Tucker. I'll try to get some pics up by this weekend at the latest. They live on the other side of the river. Maybe I'll take a run over tomorrow, and get some pics.
  5. Okay, folks, hopefully it's alright to post this. My father is actually selling this, and I'm trying to help him, since he doesn't have a PC. The barrel is marked '39. It is a Mark I. The serial number is 1132275. It is in better than good condition. He takes very good care of his guns. He is asking $900, but will negotiate price to a point. He will do a local sale only. He lives in Marlborough, and his phone number is: 845-236-7391. He must be in dire straits, because he never sells his guns. My assumption, is that he's dumping a lot of money on my mothers health, as she's diabetic, and has literally gone blind. Anyhow, if interested, please give him a call, or contact me through my PM. Thank you. Almost forgot. It's 30-06 caliber.
  6. Personally, I think a lot of people are just going to sell them anyway without a background check.
  7. Where do you get the games?
  8. Definitely St. Cloud. I just checked out the homes listings. No question it's MN.
  9. If you look at the DEC map, there is clearly no 3B. Also, note how 3B doesn't exist on the doe permit listing either. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/30409.html
  10. Uh, not to be devils advocate, but there is no 3B in New York. Also, we don't have a DNR, at least not that I know of. Are you sure they're talking about NY?
  11. Okay, so my father has a 1903 Mark I he wants to sell, but has no idea how much it's worth. It's in better than good condition. Any ideas? BTW, it's chambered in 30-06.
  12. Grow, if you look at Dutchess County, our "green" sucks also. Believe me, I can relate. The only difference, is that fracking hasn't destroyed our woodlands-houses have. Drills, of course, are not permanent structures. Houses are. We have lost approximately 30% of the woodlands, at least in southern dutchess, within the last 10-15 years. I mean, development has been crazy here. Now, having said that, I certainly would encourage you to fight the fracking. We know only too well, here, what the end result is, when lands are wiped out.
  13. By the way, I don't recall seeing that much woodlands left where I am.
  14. Believe me-we don't have s### for open land down here. Most of the land we did have, is buried beneath expensive houses. Contaminated wells, and run off, are not uncommon here, thanks to development. You would also be hard pressed to find creeks, and main waterways, that aren't polluted in some form or other. The Hudson River, Fishkill Creek, are just two examples. In fact, the "Southeastern area", really doesn't have much of anything worthwhile when it comes to hunting. Hell, you can't even find any Ruffed Grouse down here anymore. And, quite frankly, nothing is protected down here, when it comes to development. Hell, wetlands have been wiped out for years, for houses. Believe me-we don't have it good at all. http://www.dec.ny.go...door/82098.html
  15. Hell, Doc, that sounds like what goes on now.
  16. Stewart State Land might be a good option. There are ponds scattered throughout that area.
  17. I agree. Being a vet, I know this very well. What people also fail to realize, is that there are states that would actually side with the people on this issue. Texas, is a prime example, not to mention other states in the South. These states, of course, also have their own military's, who are under the jurisdiction of that state, first and foremost.
  18. Funny, that "vitriol" sure as hell works for the left all the time, while our "voice of reason" has been a dismal failure. It would seem, that the left gets their point across much better than we do, with their "vitriol", otherwise, our gun rights wouldn't be in the gutter to begin with. Voice of reason, my a$$. If you take a look at the last few decades, I would have to say that the left's methods have been much more effective than ours.
