I smoke my V Hinds at 225 to 250.  Pull at a internal of 130.. let it rest lightly foiled for 30 min then slice.

In fact, there's one on the pit as I'm typing this.  Along with a 8# packer. And a little later double smoking a 12# ham.

  3. I have the Tikka T3 lite SS syn. stock in 7mm08 with a Leupold Vari X III 3.5X10. First off all Tikkas are long action no matter the caliber, doesn't bother me but it does some. The rifle is extremely accurate and easy to carry. Light weight = more recoil compared to a standard rifle in the same caliber. Again doesn't bother me I've never been recoil sensitive, some people are. The biggest draw back (personal opinion) is the stock to me it sounds very hollow to the touch and seems noisy when on stand. They have finally started making some reasonable priced after market stocks in the last few years.

  4. " I missed 4 deer clean with my bow last yr... ive been shooting 5-6 arrows everyday since April.. a wounded deer is unacceptable"

I haven't missed 4 deer my whole life and I've been hunting for 39 years !

If friends are shooting and I can make it, I'll shoot a little more, but it is usally once or twice in the back yard. If the arrow go's where I'm aiming it from 4 or 5 different spots I'm good to go

  5. Z-turn is the way to go we're on our second one. The first was a Dixon ZTR 42" that cut our mow time way down from the garden tractor. It had a cone drive system that went bad. I have a friend that was downsizing his lanscaping business so I bought his Exmark Lazer Z 60"

  6. Welcome Carlin. A word to the wise, don't refer to the Adirondack's as a state park to the locals. More than half the land within the Adirondack Park is privately owned. To the people who live there, it's not a park it's their home and where they try to make a living

  7. We hunted Cumberland Island GA in Jan it is a National Park Service hunt it cost $35 including camping + $21 for the GA small game Lic. You can kill as many pigs as you can find, unfortunaly we found none. There were 40 hunters there and 14 hogs were taken. It was a great time and would consider going back when the hog population comes back. What they don't tell you is they have also hired a paid hunter to kill pigs and he has killed over 1000 pigs since 2006. Leave it to the Feds to spend money to kill pigs when they can make money on hunters ? We met a local shrimper on the boat launch since the coolers had no pork we filled them with shrimp, I got 40 lbs of extra large shrimp at $3.50 a lb.
