  1. You ask a question and after getting several state responses state , "Why do you some of you guys feel that your OPINIONS matter."

If you are dissatisfied with the responses , why don't you call the DEC and get their response ? And while you are at it , tell them how stupid you think it is that having screw in steps in a tree being illegal . Then you have your answer !

Already did call and got my answer. This is right now is just entertaining! With the exception of a few members here who understood the question, I will never post a question again! Happy Thanksgiving too all!

  2. I have a friend ;) that uses screw in steps on state land in the ADKS takes them out after he is done. But "he" also doesn't set his cruise at 64mph on the highway and one time he loaded 8 rounds in his 10/22. so "he" is sort of an outlaw![/quote

Nice breaking the law, breaking the law lol!

  3. Who exactly do you thinks gives a crap if you screw a step into a tree really! Why are they even made then? It's ok to use them on private land but not public. I mean listen to yourself! Once again the question was how much was the penalty! Why do you some of you guys feel that your OPINIONS matter. Can't wait for the replies.

  4. so you weren't looking for the right answer, just the answer that you wanted to hear......you could have said that in your first post.

Did u have the right answer? I wanted to know what was the penalty where do you come up what I want to hear?

  5. You are trying to stir things up. Why start off with denying it, when you're clearly not answering the original question or staying on topic? It must be nice to walk around with your holier than thou attitude, looking down at all the sinners.

Have you ever seen a sign that said 55 miles per hour? Did you ever drive, maybe 60 miles per hour, past a sign like that? Let me ask you a question, if you're willing to ignore this law on the public highway, what others are you willing to ignore? How many dead prostitutes in your shed, boyo?

A law isn't "You can't do that". A law is "You do that and this will happen". He's trying to figure out what will happen. Your comments aren't constructive at all.

Thank you Sir! That's all I needed to know. Finally someone with the answer!

  6. FYI , just heard back from a State Ranger I know. For screwing anything in a tree on State land. (cut/remove/injure a tree) is a Misdemeanor and the fine STARTS at $1,500. Can buy a ton of climbing sticks for that price.

Holy crap! That's insane wow I guess you can't even screw in a bowhanger!

  7. Yup I use a summit bullet backpacker by the time u get up that tree you are sweating pretty good! Even with the muddy sticks it takes a litte bit of work. In a perfect world we could leave our equipment in the woods and it would still b there when you went to your stand.

  8. Hey Thank you guys $200 is steep I am using muddy sticks right now I am carrying in 6 of them. Trees in the area I am bowhunting are hard to get into with a climber. Not supposed to cut trees either. Really trying to lighten the load had back surgery couple of years ago. Tried a ground blind not feeling it. But once again thanks not trying to pick a fight.

  9. I am being upfront about it! Hunters use them all over the place! What are you some sort of treehugger jjb4900 ok to kill animals but let's not harm a tree, give me a break.

  10. I realize it damages trees. Thank u for that. So do bugs, storms, Mother Nature in general. My question is what's the penalty? I would rather hang a stand and use detachable steps than go in with my climber.

  11. I am looking to scout a new area for next season near home. Has anyone hunted this DEP property. Any info you could provide would be helpful. I found a map online but doesn't show parking spots or access points.
