i use scents. i think its a good idea. when you get in your stand keep the scent botte open. while you are dragging, re soak your drag rag every 50 yards or so. then, also, hang your drag rag a little ways down wind from your stand.

I recently purchased a 7mm08. This gun is so accurate and light, its rediculous, Recoil is nothing. I highly recommend it. Weatherby is what i got, i bought it used but "never fired" off a buddy. I got 2 deer with it ths year, so it is now my gun of choice.

to let a "sitter" or child sitting with you to use a call.(Actually, its fine to have a youth sit with you but cant assist in the hunt at all which incudes driving or calling) But a lil 4 year old seeing a spiker, wanting to call? cant resist. It was fun, and thats all that matters. All day he was ready to go. even had his bb gun ready. (at 6am this mornng)

He enjoyed it, and we saw some wildlife, squirells, stray cats, a few deer. He had alot of fun, and I know its a illegal, i let him hit the call a few times. It was fun. He was a good boy.

easy way to tell, lift his leg and see if he has a tally....... looks like a button buck to me, the bone structure on the head.

just got my stitches out tday. still looks bad, gonna have my nerves fixed surgically, but i have to wait til it heals. dumb doctor says i cant go back to work yet. Risk of infection and reopening. Actually, hes not dumb, i take that back. im dumb for wanting to go back to work.

had a chicadee land in my lap first day of youth hunt, forgot to put my bolt in my gun second day of rifle. when i shot my 5 point this past weekend, thought tailgate was broke on wheeler, but later that day realized that i was trying to pull the latches wrong way.

you know, a few years ago while during rifle season my younger brother shot a small 6 point with his 300. blew his jaw clean off. didnt kill the deer, luckily, his FIL killed it a little later on. I was very dissappointed. deer was facing him, and it turned his head, and he took a head shot. I coulda punched him in the face, because he knows better. We werent brought up and taught that way. I am not sure of the distance, I never asked. It was an impulsive gotta have it shot. I told him, patience pays off. I was very mad at him for that.
