  1. Lol, that's actually a button buck. Thankfully I have long arms !!! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  2. Got my dad in the honey stand... Im really really really hoping he scores. He sacrificed everything to buy the farm, and I'm the one stacking up bucks. Wanting him to score a giant is an understatement. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  3. Was googling the "open till" times for tonight first thing this a.m. not a concern anymore ! Plenty of time !! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  4. So with the full moon being so close to Nov 1st, I encourage all of you to call in sick to work. This is gonna be the week to catch one in daylight. My buck was rutted pretty good. I could smell him from my stand... On my victory lap out of the woods I caught another mature and a big 6pt also cruising. That was around 9am. Good luck to anybody out there now, game is ON Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  5. Here ya are ! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  6. I'm a firm believer that the argument of mature Vs meat will never end, and I'm ok with it. I am set with MY style, no matter who says what. The reason is, a trophy to me is always going to be a trophy TO ME. Big buck, little buck, fawn or a button... Doesn't matter what, if I think it's a trophy, it's a trophy ! I applaud you for doing WHAT YOU WANT regardless of the antler size. We are lucky to have any opportunity at any deer and being able to appreciate that is step 1. For what it's worth, every day I step in the deer woods I think of something I'm thankful for and usually say it out loud. I'm in the "mature only" club, and there are many times frustrations can set in. It is definitely important to take a step back and realize what's around you, and where your at and how "lucky" we truly are, big deer or no deer. Hack a piece off that rack and make a necklace... 7. After last night's activity I knew today would be the day. Big boys were on their feet after the does all am. Got this stud @750 am. 15 yard shot, bullseye. Went 50 and dropped in sight. First notch of many on the XBOW. 18.5" inside. He came in solo, head down cruising. Great morning !!! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  8. BBD Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  9. Hard to tell... Having the wife help with tracking ? Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  10. I'm ok with the xbow. I can appreciate guys who hunt with longbows, or guys who refuse to xbow and stay with the compound. I get it. You like a challenge ! So do I ! But, at the end of the day I'm after a mature buck, and I'll take any advantage I can get, whether it's a scoped xbow, faster speed, no need to stand and draw or extended range because let's face it, the big guys usually only make one mistake and I want to capitalize on that !! 11. Being thankful is sometimes a hard lesson, but when you connect on a nice buck, it much easier !!! Congrats ! Also glad to hear your feeling better. Keep it up !! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  12. Ugh. The couch when the action is hot... This weather sucks ! Wifey is grocery shopping then I'm gonna man up and sit through the wind and rain.... Meanwhile I'm watching the hunting channel so I can remember what the big guys look like ! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  13. That's good stuff right there. Hard to explain the feeling of having my son in the blind with me. Wouldn't trade it for any giant deer, ever. The hunting world needs more parents like you ! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  14. 20's. Up and out of sight even if little cover on tree. Also keeps your thermals up and away. And, who doesn't like to get high during season ??? !! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  15. Tresspasers who think it's ok "cause I've been hunting here for XX years" Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  16. Cool pics.my weight guesses are Yotes are 33 and 36#. Bear is 278# Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  17. Something else could be going on if your best arrow consistently shoots a 2+ group. Lots of possibilities. I'd say go mechanical to start anyways, but that may not solve your issue. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  18. Moog. From what I see your a great hunter... Trust your gut. Bigger or smaller, you will get one. Just try to not focus on him like he's the last buck on earth... You'll be alright !! Quartering too is never good, unless you have a gun. No bow/arrow combo is proven to blow through shoulders and you most likely would have hit one, or 2. Like somebody else said, you could be tracking a non fatal buck right now and THAT is alot worse feeling than passing a marginal shot. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  19. Well, awesome and eventful night. I finally checked something off the bucket list.... Took my son hunting ! He's only 3.5 and I figured we might spook something at some point. Threw the blind up in the neighbors field and off we went. Wouldn't you know it a couple doe came out after a short time! My son actually waved at then but thankfully we were in the shadow of the blind. We watched them for awhile then I decided to take the shot. She was at 20 yrds broadside. Unfortunately, I grazed the blind window and buried a rage right below her. They came in from a different route and I hadn't had that window open enough to shoot, apparently. Either way, he said he had fun and that we will get her next time !! What a blessing. Tonight will be a night I NEVER forget. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  20. Last night was muggy and buggy, this morning is foggy and boggy....wow, my sense of humor... last night I had a small basket chasing the girls around for every bit of an hour. He wouldn't let them in the field. They crashed around out in front of me and he was grunting up a storm. I thought it was a bit early and aggressive for the "pre" rut. Usually I see some chasing, some sparring and some finicky does, this was a typical rut style chase and the grunts were loud and sounded like tending grunts..... Either way, giving that stand a rest and I'm back in the blind for the am. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  21. Indeed. They came in a second wave of a dozen or so. Must have been a good bird night Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  22. Anybody else find sincere enjoyment when surrounded by a flock of chick-a-dee's ?? Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  23. Temps dropped, thank goodness. Even 10° makes it bearable. Got a new guy coming in on cam.... He's better than the one I've been hoping to see... Super wide 8 and has me confused as to age. Body is kinda skinny and head isn't too big... but he sure has that old buck posture.Who knows. He's big enough to get noticed around here and will be a fine addition to the wall ! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  24. Stayed in with the winds...not concerned about the rains but winds keep em in the thick stuff. Gonna have to check the blind and see if it's still there ! Gonna take my son and check cam's too. Maybe head to southern tier for the evening sit. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
