  1. Both look young to me, on this site that could mean shooter or let em go and watch em grow... that first one looks like he's putting on the pounds, u must have some nice food plots around !! Wait, is that a trail of cheeseburgers ?!!?? Don't u know baiting is illegal ?? On a more serious note, a posted sign means no tress passing. Kids, parents, geezers, harmless or not, stay the heck out !
  2. Oddly enough I once had only my saw when my jack Russel decided to stand off with a yote.... I thought it was going to get reeeeeal messy quick, one way or another. Adreneline and hunter / protector instinct kicked in, but thankfully the yote fled before I got my chisel chain through his chest. I definately prefer my 870 any day ! Kinda laughed back at the house when I realized what I thought I could do with my saw.
  3. Of course I left my phone in the house..... but its prob a good thing cause the time I would have spent fumbling for my phone could have allowed the ninjurkey time to strike
  4. So I was late with my plot this year, soy and corn. I've been checking it regularly to see if some sort of fence or scare crow is needed. Yesterday I was looking closely at the soy since its just popping through. I was kinda bent over looking for any plants that got ate when behind me something caught my attention. As I turned around there was a hen with her wings out running at me. She got about 5 feet from me when I decided to yell and start my retreat. She was hissing and putting and no matter what I did she wanted to get her beak in me ! I barked and yelled and flapped my arms and she just kept coming. The faster I moved the faster she came at me. I finally got a good 40 yards between us when I saw a handful of very small poults sneaking into some thick stuff. I decided to be the bigger man and take the long way back to the house. I gotta tell u, the adreneline was flowing and I have a feeling if I wouldnt have seen her she may have left me with an interesting scar for a funny conversation piece. Ahhh, to be a fly on the tree for that one ! Just a reminder that rabid coons and mountain lions aren't the only dangerous game in the woods.... lol. Watch your back ! Another great memory !
  5. I typically just use the rifle, but I salute you for using the bow ! As far as dogs go, my jack Russell has a few chucks under her belt and typically go deep in the holes for them. Makes me chuckle to see my 8 lb dog carrying a 15lb chuck. No matter how much I yell, she's always hunting something. Rabbits, chucks, squirrels and chipmunks are not safe. Part of living in the sticks. Maybe ill grab my bow and dog and hit the fields
  6. I only hunt so I can join forums like this....lol Harvest and eat ( fresh back straps ), conservation, being in the woods, family and friend time, memories, the possibility of a trophy, peaceful mornings and amazing sunsets, and my list could go on. We all have different reason but to me the best time is time in the woods.
  7. All reasons I bought one, considering I had my matthews limb " de laminate " and Matthews took over a month to send out new limbs.... btw, it was a week before opener
  8. And sunrise after sunrise came, the only thing I called in was a coyote. This ended up being a very humorous cat and mouse game. Long story short on my way to work the past couple days I have seen birds in the field ! Unbelievable but that's hunting ! Had a bearded hen come through my back yard as well, ugh these damn birds got me ! NEXT YEAR !
  9. Omg. That made my day !!! Lol. Great joke for a memorial day weekend, I will tell it many times
  10. Well, looks promising for tomorrow a.m. nice chunk of property, my only issue is there are quite a few deeeep valleys and this field is basically raised up with fairly steep hills surrounding it. Guessing they roost close so they can fly down into the field. Don't care either way.... can't wait for sunrise !!
  11. Very excited that I finally tracked down the owner of a small field that I consistently see toms in. Guy is more than friendly and doesn't hunt turkey, so its just me out here. I swear I've put in my 5-noons and driven by this place and seen 4 strutters in this field with a smile on their face. That will soon change ! My poor attitude due to a lack of gobbling has just been turned around ! OK, I'm done here, gotta go scout, just wanted to share my excitement. ( tried explaining to the wife, she didn't really care )
  12. I can't believe the mits on them things !
  13. I too am late but I wanted to share a pic from last weekend. Turkey hunting on a couple hundred acre farm and came across this field car on the top of a mountain.... so I couldn't resist ! 04 sporty 600 twin In the Chevy, on top of the hill
  14. And if it matters to anyone, it was an extra option to get the all black paint... some limited edition deal I guess
  15. Selling for a friend. As title states its an 09 Honda foreman 500 with power steering, push button 4x4, digital dash, push button auto shift, and it has the camoplast tracks. Right now it has brand new rims and tires on it but tracks are a simple install. Machine was bought wholesale from a dealer and has never been registered. All needed papers on hand. Machine has 150ish miles on it as i have been puttin around the backyard to keep the cobwebs out so they are slowly going up. It originally had the tracks and the dealer used it to for a demo at the county fair and other shows, so its never been worked with, never abused and in perfect shape. The foreman has a rep as one of the best, we all know that. With the tracks installed it is basically unstoppable in any conditions. He has more than 13k invested and is looking to get mid 8's to 9k. Its on CL for 9200obo . Def a reasonable deal with the tracks and the condition of the ATV. He is in no rush so low balls will be denied.... trust me I tried ! I'm in southern Erie county if you want to see/ ride it. The power steering is awesome and makes me never want to get on my sportsman! Def will have it on my next wheeler. Ill try and get pics up asap.
  16. 70# but according to the local rep u can squeeze a few more lbs and be safe. So mine is around 74# its not too bad with the smooth draw and once u hit " the wall " u could prob hold 80# for minutes.... plus I could prob get a pass through on a 18" cherry tree from 50yrds with an expandable bh. Lol. Its FAST
  17. Honestly, s&s in springville takes great care of me. The bow came 28.5 and I asked them to give me 1" more. It took them just a couple min to change and I was prob busy shopping for some other goodies while they did it, so I can't confirm the mod change. If the draw needed to be changed I'm sure they would have what's needed in stock.
  18. I believe it can be adjusted 1.5" without changing cams
  19. You know what they say bout guys with big draw lengths...... yup, long arrows
