  1. Happy Bday Zeek! Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  2. Glad you found him!!!!!! That's the moral of the story for backing out on a shot like that. You may have very well found him in his first bed this morning had he not been bumped. Regardless, congrats !!!! Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  3. I'd be heading back in minimumof 6 hours. You got him up off his death bed. Doubt he will go far unless bumped again. Shot clearly shows guts, which is prob lethal but you also should be prepared for a live deer in a bed if you head back out now. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  4. I am definitely not with the " bowhunters are wounding all the deer " theory. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk

    PA trip

AGAIN, by our more than gracious host, we were invited down for the rifle season opener. We were greeted by a camp full of wonderful folks, who treated us like family. We could only hunt Saturday so I packed enough snacks to hold us over for a potential "dark to dark" At first shooting light, I let Kaiden hit the grunt tube. We've practiced a bunch and the kid just loves the tube. After a series of buck grunts and doe bleats, Kaiden sat down and said " and now we wait " like Rut Daniel's always does. This kid has a sense of humor and I have no idea where he gets it. Not 5 minutes later, 2 legal bucks were coming in hot looking for the noise maker. Unfortunately, they had us pinned and were very spooky. Kaiden was able to get on both bucks but I could see there was enough brush between them to not be sure of a clean shot. I had him hold off, which was so tough to do, but the right thing ( IMO ) when mentoring a beginner. The bucks eventually worked back I to the thick stuff and never presented a shot. We ended up sitting dark to dark, which is a feat for a 7yr old, and seeing a pile of deer. Only a doe gave us a perfect opportunity, but we didn't have a doe tag and Kaiden is dead set on a buck. One other buck cruised through behind us but again was a bit thick and far to take a shot. Kaiden had my late grandfather's 6mm Rem, which was awesome to now have 4 generations represented in the deer woods. We shared a pile of stories and laughs at "the camp", we were fed like kings, and just had a great time. So thankful for the opportunity, and we are really enjoying all the memories we are making in PA. A wise man recently told me, "don't get all worked up if he doesn't get one, just enjoy the process, it WILL happen" I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of my kid. Dark to dark, no giving up in his attitude, no dissappintment with not getting a shot. He's got what it takes, that's for sure. I can't wait for his opportunity to come and I can't wait to share the harvest as I see it in my dreams. THANK YOU AGAIN " Mr Lee" Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  6. After careful consideration, knowing that most deer drives require a running shot VS bow shots requiring the damn stars to align, I'd have to agree with pygmy. It makes sense and any of us bow hunters that also tote a gun should see that truth. Side note. Pygmy was around and hunting before there was trucks, and even turnips. 7. 100% true. I watch a herd come from the thickets at dusk, feed, then end up a few hundred yards away bedded down in a field, almost every single night. By morning they are back in the thickets. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  8. AWESOME!!! Big Ole dog !! Nice shooting Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  9. Solid unit. Please don't take offense to your shooting, but the gun will do better than 2" at 100. An amazing slug gun, for sure Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  10. Always cool when the second rut shows up. Plenty of fawns hitting maturity, and a few does who didn't get bred. This week and next week are usually the time. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  11. That's what I don't get. These snowmobile clubs are on borrowed land. Land that people may hunt on. If I was planning on the hunt, and it got canceled I sure wouldn't allow the trails through my property. Regardless. I can't remember the last time the trails were opened on the official date, due to lack of snow. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  12. Looks like you have some standing firewood... that damn bug is awful Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  13. Had my ranger for about 6 years now. 2012 800xp. Just replaced a pile of wear parts. It gets used. It has spent most of its life outside, some of that uncovered. It has a pile of hours on it. I'd say it has been a fantastic machine for what it is, and not a problem child especially given its life. We creek ride alot. Mud bog alot. Deep snow etc etc. I wouldn't say it's better or worse than a can am, but for me it's been a great machine. I would buy another. I also know can am has become very popular and holds a solid reputation. Your 2 choices are great, so get the one that's available or the one your wife thinks is the cutest and you shouldn't regret it. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  14. Lots to be thankful for that's for sure. Like the comedy of Wolcs turkeys.... giblets and balls, he eats em all. Enjoy your day, all Happy Thankgiving. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  15. Shame. I have a few pairs and they do the opposite for me. Yes, order a size up, yes they are big and clunky, but they are amazingly comfortable and the warmest pair of boots I've owned. What model did you get ? Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  16. Cmon. We've all done it. Or at least tried. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  17. If there was snow on the ground, I think we would all be hearing alot more shooting Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  18. 2.... just 2. One was far off, the other within a mile or so. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk

  22. Your 100lbs less likely to spin out in the 700..... Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  23. Was a good buck for sure. My best with the gun Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  24. It's the shotgun that identifies as a rifle, and does a darn good job. We are shotgun only at home, but I'll carry the 220 when hunting rifle areas and don't feel as if I'm losing out on anything. I've killed a buck at 185, through the shoulders. Didn't go 20 Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
