  1. I've hunted the same land for over ten years now and it's always been great deer hunting. I have used trail cams religiously for four or five years always tons of deer around really start showing there faces alot by mid August to check out my food plot and eat at the many apple trees around. This year zip, I literally have about 95% less pics of deer than prior years. I've got about 30 coyote pics in the last month and a half also hear several packs of them howl nightly. Enough to keep deer away? I Don't understand any other reason for deer not being around. Any suggestions or ideas on wut i should do to save my season would really be appreciated thanx..
  2. Looking to do a little upgrading on my bow this year been researching the anchor sight by archery innovations dont know anyone personally thats has it or has tried it went to local bowshop he tried to steer me toward the retina lock by IQ bowsights basically just because he didnt know much about the anchor sight and its a pretty similar concept. All reviews for anchor sight were good on youtube. difference between the two were that the anchor sight is setup so that you eliminate your peep off the string all together it makes you alot more accurate because you always have the perfect anchor and you can shoot when its much darker compared to looking through a peep at a pin then lining up to your target. supposedly anchor sight you just line up a dot in a circle which means your at your anchor point and just put your pin on your target. IQ retina lock sights you still use a peepand its about 75 bucks more. would really appreciate any suggestions or feedback on what my best option would be. Thank you.

  9. dont know what my best choice for fertilizer should be for my food plot i didnt do a soil test or lime it in the spring i planted about a 3/4 acre plot the last week of july. tilled it up planted clover crush mix and some kind of turnip/rape/brassica mix and did rye grass in the low sunlight outer areas. Plot is coming in awesome very thick and green around 6 inches tall rite now mature enough to fertilize. looking to do so in the next few days wondering what the best mix to use would be i think last time i had plot 2-3 years ago i used 8-12-15 or somewhere around that with pretty good results. local supplier is low on options so looking for a few good choices depending on availability. its a middle of the woods plot pretty damp and still a lot of sunlight. would appreciate any help thanx.....
  10. Planning on planting my food plot this weekend its about 2-3 acres. I mowed it all down yesterday today Im killing it off with some homeade roundup. Ive planted probably 4 or 5 plots in the past usually only plant every other year. Ive had some really awesome plots some years and some poor plots also. This is the first year im going to kill it off instead of just cutting it and tilling it in. I wanna try and get less weeds then in the past. This weekend when its all dead and time to till should I just till in all the dead left overs and roots or burn it away before tilling. Ive heard before you should never do any kind of burning around your hunting area but i burnt some brush rite next to the plot this spring and still had deer around walking rite next to the burn area seamed unaffected. Let me know if you think this is a good idea or not I think it will eliminate more weed growth but dont wanna scare any deer away either. Thanx for any help.
  11. Three small bucks together hard to see without zooming in. Decent 6 possibly an 8. Im pretty sure this is the same deer as the 2 pics above i passed him up a few times last year glad i did looks like mayb a shooter this year.
  12. Thanx alot first pic i got of him all season was second to last day of rifle. Got my blood pumping but only had 2 days to hunt him after i knew he was in the area. Actually saw him late january a few deer were eating on some round bails in the corner of my uncles pasture, so i know he is still around.

  15. Thanx ill probably go pick up a IR or go with no cam.. Any tips on making a mock scrape made a few in the past without alot of luck??
  16. I have a digital trail cam didnt feel like spending the extra money to go infrared.I have heard if a mature buck gets flashed a few times from a trail cam he most likely will not return to that spot. Im going to make a couple of mock scrapes this week and would like to see what is coming into them. Think im safe using the trail cam or better off to not use it i dont wanna scare away a good buck??
