I agree...in spring 2013 I broke in my Bowmadness xs by shooting it about 3000x in 3 months. Now I shoot 3 or 4 times a week 1 arrow per round, no more than 6 rounds all from varying ranges and angles, almost always at a 3d deer and never past 45. In the field I'll shoot out to 35 in good conditions tho last year I harvested 5 with the bow all inside 25, the buck inside 10. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the good info...I've been spraying and cultivating to prep all the plots in advance of plantings, gonna do the same for the cover plot.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks. He is fast tracking to plant ASAP but I am pretty sure some varieties only need 65 frost free days. I'm not real worried about it as it is a last minute added bonus. The farmer also brush hogged me about 2/3 acre that I am going to plant in native grasses and wild flowers for bedding and escape cover. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Happened to me last year when I forgot to plug up the 12v power port on my expensive mms cam. Took it home and hosed it out with 91% IPA, still works great a year later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm reviewing some plotwatcher footage and the Diamond plot was seeing tons of daytime action this spring...this roman-nose got up close and personal yesterday evening: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Put the above plan into action today on the Diamond Food Plot. Tall and lush buckwheat before: Mowed strips w/my Stihl trimmer: Tilled strips: Planted WGF Milo, FM Peas, Alyce & Dixie Clovers, and a just a touch of Buckwheat in the strips: Mowed remaining buckwheat strips to cover planted strips with buckwheat mulch: In a couple weeks I'll be tilling the remaining strips and planting WGF Milo, Soybeans, Annual Clovers and a lil Buckwheat. I also mowed the Logging Trail Plot: And checked on the Boomerang Plot...looking lush: I'll be tilling the Boomerang in about a month and planting BF Oats, PT Turnips, Sugar Beets, Annual Clovers, and a sprinkle of Buckwheat. The farmer also brush-hogged the 5ish acres where he will be planting corn on my lease: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have a tiny laptop with a built in sd drive...it easily fits in my pack if I decide I want to harvest pics. I can also view my plotwatcher pro videos in the field. It also has 120 gb of storage and a built in wireless-modem (I don't use that service). I bought it on eBay a couple years ago specifically for this purpose for about $100: When I grab a tablet I'll make sure it has a built in sd drive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'll be heading over to the lease this week to till under and mow alternating rows of the buckwheat/peas on the diamond plot...it's tall and just started flowering: I'll be planting Wgf sorghum and peas in the tilled rows, and over seeding that with alyce/crimson clovers. Then I'll mow the strips of remaining buckwheat with my Stihl trimmer using the clippings as a green manure mulch. I will also be planting my Egyptian Wheat screens prior to 06/15. Later this summer I'll be tilling the remaining alternating rows of buckwheat and planting peas and beans in those rows then I'll also overseed with annual clovers. I ordered the rest of my late summer seeds as well...the boomerang plot is going to be tilled and planted with purple top turnips, sugar beats, bf oats and annual clovers late summer. It's bittersweet to till such a lush plot now, but I am confident I have a good plan for 2 nice all-season hunting plots. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anyone ever stain antlers?
Meat Manager replied to nycredneck's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
I have an old euro mount experiment from a few years ago hangin down at the lake frontage. Yesterday after seeing this thread I thought I'd give it a try with some oak I had layin around, the antlers had been as white as the skull: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Help choosing a duck/goose hunting dog

I got 2 males intact...a 6 year old 110lb Chocolate who is a giant baby and 7 yr old 65lb Golden. Both are incredible swimmers and will retrieve over and over without tiring, however both are masher mouths...useless for waterfowl (I'm not a good trainer). They will flush birds upland...but we don't do that often. We typically just like to hike and swim...again more a failure of my training and a disservice of their breeds on my part then any fault of theirs. The best family dogs I've ever been around. EDIT: DW's pup reminded me that both of my pups point, the chocolate very consistently...if only I had the skills to cultivate all of this potential. -
Not so sure about the NRA

I agree with your first point. On the second point...do you remember who your last governor was and how he got there? Patterson was a terrible leader during one of the State/Nation/World's worst economic periods in recent history. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Predominantly Dry in 7j for the past 2 weeks...every 3rd or 4th day a shower or tstorm and that is the extended forecast through July 4. Great for treating my deck with deckover and thompsons on the railings, great for lakeside...fingers crossed its enough to keep my plots lush and green. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Never mind I must have forgotten where I live...I was just out on the boat and got a quick reminder about the paradise that is Otisco: Bass, Browns, Walleyes and Tigers in her (and almost no boats on her) and Whitetails and Turkeys are abundant all over those hills! "Why doesn't NY have a dove season?"
Meat Manager replied to mike rossi's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
I got a dozen or so cooing out back as we speak... I hunted doves more than anything else from ages 16-18 growing up in PA. Good fun and good eats. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 49 replies

I believe there are still Red Brocket Deer on some of the more continental islands like Trinidad. I am sure if there are any left you can't hunt them though. Not that most would want to here...their antlers only grow to spikes. I had some Roe Deer and Red Stag venison in Austria and Germany this past March. Both are hunted there usually from nice homemade elevated box blinds. I would move to the southern Austrian or the northeastern Italian Alps (Lake Garda would be a dream) today if a good opportunity came along. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
