Osbourne, I can only hunt week ends but I avoid opening day at all costs! lol Being from NJ now I know what the Orange army is! lol I try to hunt around the crowds and yes I walk in as far as I can and let the other hunters move deer for me.

Thanks for the posts I always struggle with the regulations on this. I hunt 3 states and all seem to want something different. I usually fill everything out and attach the tag immediately so there is no question. I have had a deer that I lost the tag on the drag out. I found it in the leaves after alot of time and sweat was wasted!

Just wanted to say hello to the fellow hunters on this forum. I have hunted for 40 plus years and moved around the country a bit. I just bought my NY lincense and am looking for places to hunt in southern NY state. I live in Northern NJ

I have not hunted NY state in 20 plus years because I moved down south. I just bought my deer and bear licenses and I have been reading about Sterling Forest and spoke to a couple guys who have hunted there. Any advice on a specific trail to follow or area to go to for bears? Obviously swamps and stuff but looking for more help. I live near west Milford NJ and would like something in the southern NY area
