Here is where our taxes go for Education
wooffer replied to Dave's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
How can you compare accepting a raise to a group of people who use your children to extort money? Are you serious? There is no parallel here. Give us more money or your kids will suffer, they threaten. Try that with your boss on Monday and let me know how it goes. You can blame the employees along with the union. It was the teachers and their union protesting at the 1% Wall Street rally against the rich. The teachers weren't hiding in shame for all the money they loot from the taxpayers. What do you call teachers in my school district making an average salary of $107K a year for part-time work? I call it greed that even Wall Street can't rival. Our teachers wore their union T'shirts, handed out flyers to parents and started what amounted to a work slow down at our school district when their contract was up for renewal and it was feared they might not get what they wanted. I have to ask, "why does any municipal worker need or deserve a contract". Take a look at the salaries of my school district and tell me the teachers are not to blame. They keep insisting on raises every year and get them. Oh I am sorry a "step increase". Unions were not designed to protect part-time workers making 6 figure salaries working part-time. The teachers are the ones who got their teaching time reduced to 3.3 hours daily, NOT the union. History has shown that you can't pull the "oh I was following orders excuse", and be excused for your behavior. There is nothing from stopping the teachers from requesting a fair deal for the taxpayers, except their lack of ethics. Top School Salaries.pdf Locust Valley Teachers Payroll 2011.pdf -
I am not sure I see the need for this type of sight. It looks like its only purpose it to make sure you are not torqueing your grip when shooting. Is there something I am missing?

Happy Easter to all. Please also I'll pray for those Christians being persecuted and wiped out by the genocide of Christians in Darfur, and Egypt.

Are the winds of change coming???

Sadly the worst of the financial crisis is yet to come. The government has only stalled this financial crisis by printing fake money and passing it around like cheap wine. Then you have a President and NBC making statements and creating false news stories to incite a race war. We also have the explosion of the Muslim Brotherhood onto the world scene now that the dictators that contained them have been removed with our assistance. Then look at how the (local/federal) government has handled any past natural disaster and you have to ask yourself, "how do I prepare my family for a calamity?" -

Agreed, the taxpayers should NOT be contractually bound to employee any worker. Especially when the contract is of NO benefit to the taxpayer. We have a music teacher "John BenstocK" (you can google him) who was arrested for innapproriate behavior with a minor. Children in his classrom. He is suspended with pay ($117K a year) and health benefits while he sits at home over a year now. If convicted he gets to keep the pay and his lifetime health benefits. -

You have to make documents similiar to what I posted and get the word out. People I have spoken with had no idea how bad our school district spending was until I showed them the numbers. Did you look up your school salaries on www.seethroughny.net? -

Ah that's chump change, at least they make less than the Governor of NY. The Governor of NY makes $179,000.00 a year. Our schools Superintendent made $294,000.00 last year, and has had her paycheck increased by $43,000.00 since 2008. That’s around a 17% increase. Has your pay gone up 17% since 2008? The Superintendent also gets 24 days’ vacation, and 70 days sick days. Of course the sick days gets turned into a cash payment if unused. Then she has the nerve to publicly say that she did not take a raise last year. Talk about taking a que from Clinton. "I did not have sexual relations with woman"but I did get a bj from the Ho. I attached the contracts should anyone quetion it. The new contracts are even more lucrative. Teachers Contract.pdf Superintendant Contract.pdf -

Very well said. Take a look at the attached spreadsheet of the teachers salaries in my school district here in Nassau County. Average pay $107K a year for a contract that requires less than 3.5 hours of teaching daily. . You can check your teachers pay on www. seethroughny.net Make sure you are sitting down, I think the numbers will shock you. It is truly disgusting and my district wants more. They are truly pigs like the attached cartoon shows. Locust Valley Teachers Payroll 2011.pdf Locust Valley School District Excess Cartoon.pdf -

Hey Pav, we can go back and forth on how hard the regents are now compared to years ago, but I don't want to digress from the main issue...school taxes. Maybe you work for an honest school district but mine is anything but. It is a money grab from top to bottom. Our 73 million budget equates to $35K per student and they still want to raise taxes because they can't make ends meet. Our 3rd highest paid teacher is a GYM teacher at $145K a year. Our teachers contract possibly like yours only requires 3.3 hours of actual teaching a day. We give away free drivers ed so a teacher can get a free ride all day on the taxpayers dime. Our superintendent makes more than the Governor and gets 70 sick days a year. Of course they all become cash if she doesn't use them. We give all our retiring Superintendents FREE health insurance for life as well as our teachers of course. The school budget is balanced teachers (& Admin) pay and benefits first, then what is left over go to the kids. No business in the world would survive if they set payroll first and then told their customers what they had to pay for the product. I work for a (large) private company, my salary doesn't cost the taxpayers a dime. And I don't have the option of threatening someones child to get a raise. Have you seen the cartoon in this website? I think it sums it all up http://truthaboutib.com/images/Locust_Valley_School_District_Excess_Cartoon_1_.pdf I don't hold it against you that you are a teacher. I had great teachers growing up, but that is not what our kids have (with the exception of you possibly) today. As we saw in Wisconson, todays teachers are "teamsters with chalk". -

Hey PAV, not sure why you say my post is incorrect? Are you trying to pull a Bill Clinton? " I did not have sexual relations with that girl"..........uh just a bl*wjob. Fine, call the "curve" a "scale" like your website. The end result is the same thing. We had to get 65% of the answers correct when I went to school, NO curve/scale existed. The school teachers union is taking the same poetic license when it comes to raises. They call them "step increases". Our teachers will get a 3% raise, uh I mean step increase irregardless every year on top of their $107K a year average salary. According to the website you posted, Does A Regents Examination Score of 65 Indicate That 65 Percent of Questions Were Answered Correctly? No. The passing score of 65 is not intended to indicate answering 65 percent of questions correctly." -

What sounds good is a 90% + graduation rate with Regents diploma. Most would say WOW! that is great, but sadly the stat means little. You must remember that when we went to school the Regents were not graded on a curve. Meaning if you didn't get the passing grade you didn't pass. Toady the students are graded on a curve for Regents and the SAT's. So if the class gets a 50% it will be curved up to a passing grade and everyone eventually receives a Regents diploma. My school district collects $35K a student and touts that they are in the top 5 of LI schools based on junk stats like the one above. Sadly if you compare how our students do on the Regents compared to other schools we are NOT in the top 5. Long Islanders are being ripped off big time but are starting to wake up. Check out the cartoon in this link, http://truthaboutib.com/images/Locust_Valley_School_District_Excess_Cartoon_1_.pdf it basically sums it up and also look into the IB (International Bacuralte) program that some schools are now pushing. It is a UN backed education program that you pay extra taxes for. The teachers union has destroyed our teachers and our schools. -
You can't beat the Remington 700. You can even take the new X-Mark trigger and drop into a 40 year old 700 and it fits (and works) perfect.

Better yet, duct tape his mouth and eyes, sew him into a deer costume and leave him in the woods on opening day. -

I have found most people add a site and a peep, then adjust there form to those two items. You should close your eyes, raise your bow and with proper poster and head angle draw and align. Then open your eyes and see if you are lining up with your peep and site. Very often I have found people are not and they are trying to align with the bow. The bow should align to you and your correct posture.

I buy a bit from the internet, but lately will support local businesses when I can. Suprisingly the local stores are as competetive as the big stores. If they are not I am still glad to support a local business when I can.

Here is the Disney case from 2010, get used to this practice of filing lawsuits. CAIR.org has discussed this tactic before. Muslim woman sues Disneyland over headscarf A Muslim woman is suing Disneyland, accusing the company’s California theme park of discrimination for telling her she could not serve customers if she chose to wear a headscarf. http://vladtepesblog.com/?p=25065

From what I have read the family farms are in decline every year as corporate farms take over. Sadly the whole farming industry and how the product (cattle) are treated is effected as well.
