I used to use the Thunderheads and still like them, I just prefer the G5 monteks. Nice solid single piece of machined steel.

I like the ideas of the dog/trial section and the trapper one as well

The Finger Lakes National Forest holds a fair amount of wild birds. I used to go there in august to train my dogs on the young birds when the training season opened back up.

Love it! I've had setters, gsp's, brit's and pointers, love 'em all! I've got a grouse at the taxidermist right now.

Check out http://kcshounds.com/
These guys are all about hound hunting, and you can train dogs on bears in NY and I think they're talking about opening a season for hounds, they talk about it on the site.

I'm in Kentucky right now for a few months for work. Can't wait to be back in Sept.

Haven't eaten them! But I do put on a crow hunt every January and some teams come in with fifty, others maybe one! The best method I've used is to get in a patch of pine, along a fly route if possible, set out a few decoys and use a crow fighting an owl, they'll come in low to see in the trees and BAM! If you're a good shot you're on the board!
