  1. I dont hunt bear, but come across them twice. Once when hunting deer, and once while having a beer. lol. (True)
  2. On a serious note, camping is so much work. Man, I am tired of working.
  3. I am all for beer, and I love the Adirondacks. But never until after 5 pm. Thats just style..
  4. Thanks guys. The spray I used was Bonide Fruit Tree spray, whith one of the ingredients Captan...Its says it is good for the jap bettles, but after spraying the last time, I found them on the tree the day after. Should I use the liquid Sevin? There is no fruit because they got a bad late frost...
  5. So, got my 1/2 acre plot planted with brassica. Picture looks the same as last year lol. A little less rocks and vegtable matter. Got some apple trees in there, they were hammered by Japanese bettles this year. Sprayed them with Captan (spelling) but they still tore em up pretty good.
  6. Would a 1/4 acre of wheat clover mix be to small? I have a half acre of brassica planted about a 1000 feet away. Any info appreciated.
  7. I was pretty much on the fence with AR's. Maybe even slanted the other way. Now not so much. I think most of the problem is with the different habitats/hunting pressure in the WMU's. The area I hunt is totally different from 2 miles down the road. I was on the fence, but now think it is a good idea, after reading this thread, and some research. I can only talk about my area, but I believe after the first year, even the "meat hunters" (hate that cause it is me too) would have ample oportunity..
  8. I had an apple tree that topped itself with the weight of the apples last year...Not so good this year, but there are some.
  9. 30 odd six. Been trying with the Blackpowder (.50), just not yet. Some really strange calibers some of you used... .22lr, 32 special. Is that a .32 handgun round? I would like to hear the stories behind those.
  10. NYBuck50, You were on top of the hill basically?
  11. I dont know if anyone saw/posted this, Police audio.
  12. Why, if you disagree with food plots, just come out and say it. I am sure there could be an argument against it. Instead of a pansy way around the issue?
  13. "I have very strong opinions about how you food plotters justify them or the real purpose of them." Hmm, you think it is baiting, yet you "baited" us to reply... Thats about it yes?
  14. I did my plot for the first time last year. It was very enjoyable to grow something, an see the deer eating it like crazy! It opened up a whole new...um hobby I guess. Good times. I only do a half acre, so I guess your post would not include me, but I will be doing more in the future. I do not have a huge herd of deer near me, so my plot was used until late winter last year (not much snow). Planting, helping the deer out, geting trail cam pic's..Almost as fun as hunting!
  15. Fresh tomato, cucumber, red onion salad with fresh basil, marinated in vinegar and olive oil. Just tastes like summer. Goes great with a grilled porter house!
  16. Well, the State already dictates what can be shot, or when. The wildlife is not owned by the landowner.
  17. Looks big to me. Cameras do funny things, still looks large!
