  1. This time of year they are paired up. When the dogs run them they split.
  2. My son took this one Saturday. The dogs caught this one sunday.
  3. Belo, they are great with kids. In fact I run running walker foxhounds and they they tend to be a little shy toward people. They are not trained to kill. They are bred to run fox and coyotes. When they catch one alot of dogs will tuck tale and run. The strain I am running af grit in them and stand there ground.
  4. Curious why and how you would come up with a question like that? They are hounds, pets...not like those other breeds.
  5. Usually laying on a bog in a swamp or some thick brush or low pines.
  6. Kids and coyotes are two separate worlds!
  7. We use the garmin gps on our dogs. The collars are $150-200. Problem is, when the dogs catch the coyotes they always seem to bite the collars and ruining them. So here is the solution hopefully. Rubber padding.
  8. I could not believe that it would come to that. The few that make it around here would go to gather sap only to find empty tanks.
  9. Did it for many years. Last few years, syrup was in such high demand people were stealing sap and selling it.
  10. Yea. I think we took 46 or 47 last year and the dogs killed 23 0r 25.
  11. We use 12ga with 3 inch 00 or 000 buck or .22 mags. Our dogs catch alot of them.
  12. No, we do not get in any contest. We only use .22 mags and shotguns.
  13. There was a lot of ice flow today. Snow is about a foot or so.
  14. I do not. We only have a few around here and no season.
  15. Find a track and put our jump dog on it. If no tracks we turn them loose and they will find one. No decoy dogs.
  16. If we have a shot we take it. We usually are in no hurry so we let the dogs run as long as we can. They bay up eventually.
