  1. why would any one pay for something like the ozonics or for that matter a lot of sprays and soaps to mask scent. or scent lok clothing . to me its B.S. all of these things are aimed at the duping the deer hunting into spending money on them. where that money could be spent on equipment and other hunting related items.
  2. Hi CTN check out the gun clubs that these guys are talking about. The Gun club that is 5 minutes from my place upstate has over 175 acres and the dues are FIFTY dollars a year. and there is 2 other clubs less than 20 minutes from me upstate with similar membership prices and land to enjoy. I'm already a member of the club near me and its a good club. PM me for info if interested.
  3. its in Westchester county ny CTN that's why its so much
  4. 4F here too in Gilbertsville! live on long island good luck!
  5. The best shoot out on record was not in a movie but in real life. You tube North Hollywood shootout in Feb 1997. 2 armed men tried robbing a bank. In the gun fight that followed 1100 rounds were fired by the gunman and 650 by police. It is by far the best shootout ever recorded.
  6. Young Guns with Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen and others is a real good western featuring old firearms.
  7. just this post and responses to it are reason enough why the crossbow has no buisness in the archery season at all. put it in the regular season where it belongs.
  8. many times I've expressed my views on some of the hunters in this forums ethics and attitudes regarding deer hunting. The attitude of the hunter who shot the fawn mentioned above is just deplorable. That person would never be in my hunting party nor anyone's I know. Now you know why hunters from down state as they say have the reputations they have upstate. I'll say it again. I thank my father inlaw everytime I see him for teaching me the ethics and respect I have for Deer hunting.
  9. its just truly amazing the posts I read at times submitted by people on this site. The young hunter who started this particular posting asked a simple question regarding hunting a piece or property overseen by the DEC with certain rules and regulations depending on what time of year he is hunting it and he gets a reply like this is a ridiculous question ! this reply from a hunter from long island with a screen name sportsman no less. some sport you are and way to go to help a young hunter learn his way around.
  10. just the fact that you asked the question is all you need to give yourself the answer. let her go. that doe would walk everyday of the year on my property.
  11. to read some of the replys to this topic sure makes me glad i was taught to how to hunt and to actually have morals and ethics from who taught me. if its brown its down. amazing
  12. Suffolk archers in Huntington is 22 acre bow only facility with a beautiful club house, practice range to 30 yards and a field range where you can shoot to 80 yards at paper targets. they also have 3-D and paper course that is at least 30 targets strong. It is a membership only club but dues are very reasonable. check out the webpage Suffolk archers.
  13. waist the meet I mean was that really typed.!
  14. That indeed is a very nice set up. Now I have a question. How can anybody look at that set up resting on a field-pod and honestly say that that belongs in the archery season.

    Hello

Hi L.I. Yankee. welcome to the site. Send me a PM. I know a few spots with in 20 minutes of shirley that you might be interested in and i know where the good spots are in Rocky Point.
  16. What more facts do you need Lawdwaz and papist? if the above stated post that started this topic is accurate then the 2 facts in the post are all you need to justify the outcome of the chase. Good job by the police to stop the chase.
  17. Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't this a hunting forum. why post this stuff. keep it to yourself.
  18. Hi Sinjelam Angle Fly preserve in Westchester county is a park open to NY residents to bow hunt provided you can show you can shoot . Qualifying is done sometime near the end of the summer and an orientation meeting are a few of the requirements in place you need to adhere too .But overall is a simple process and one worth the effort. There is also DEC property that butts up to the preserve and there are is a healthy deer herd in there .The other preserves and parks are only open to Westchester county residents and Rockefeller is a lottery based hunt. good luck.
  19. the french connection, jaws, indiana jones and the raiders of the lost ark, the untouchables with kevin costner, sean connery and robert de niro and of course the godfather.
  20. the post im reading about this topic are simply mind boggling. shooting at running deer. dropping the first doe so the fawns stop for an easier shot. are some people on here just plain out to shoot anything that moves in the woods. or are they simply that bad a hunter that they have to resort to those tatics to put venison in the freezer.as a law enforcement officer the first lesson i'm taught no matter where im shooting or who im shooting at is your your target and beyond. and to think people shoot at running deer. wow. i'll say it again reading there posts and others on here im so glad I was taught deer hunting and respect and ethics for the deer and woods by my father inlaw.. wow
  21. there are no reasons to shoot a fawn none. fawns being harvested by a hunter indicates to me that that hunter has really no skills at deer hunting. or just has the mindset of its brown its down. and the picture that started this topic is of very poor taste. and i'll say it again i'm glad I was taught the ethics and respect I have for the woods and who I choose to hunt with by my father in law.
  22. i'll try this out as a topic. what is everyones lottery number who entered the drawing and are you hunting alone or with someone. maybe members can join other members who are hunting alone. might be a good way of learning new spots and meeting other members.
  23. check out hunting lease network they have a lot of land in ny for lease
  24. No one is bad mouthing the club.all the comments posted are from old members and the experiences they have had in their time as a member or from people that heard the stories from members.if there are 85 members as it stated above with each member paying between 1200 to 1500 a year in dues. that was the dues rate when i was a member 4 years ago. thats about 100 grand a year that bob gets. now for a club house you cant use because of bobs family staying there or land you cant hunt for various reasons( yea we know the reasons). and a add on craigs list that nothing not BS. LAND IN THE MIDWEST AND CANADA.. Are those members really getting their moneys worth. thats why there are so many of us who were once members but are not anymore.
