  1. This is my uncles 8 pt that was taken on Saturday (opening day) at 1130. It scored 241.50. We saw this buck during bow season but never came into range for either of us. Well needless to say, he got his prize!
  2. @Biz- I am not sure about that. I have never been to their house or really ever talked to her on what she owns. When I am able to get into contact with her. Ill have to ask her. That will be one of the many questions I will have to ask her. I wont be at work for another week, but ill text her to find out the details about the harvest and the machinery used.
  3. male/ female/ it, freshly harvested/ stuffed. In my opinion regardless of sex that thing is a monster. I would be scared just to even see that thing.
  4. I am just the middle man here. I was no where near this hunt. I don't know if its 100% real or w.e. I also do not want to question the man who shot it and irritate the guy by bombarding him with questions. When she sent me the text I had some questions about it but I thought I would simply just share the pic I relieved with the little information I got from her. But from the straps they have all over this animal the compression it makes, appears it is real.
  5. well either way congrats to him on his harvest
  6. that is a beauty! Congrats on harvesting him! I would mount that deer with no hesitation.
  7. from what she told me previously, when they wheeled him out they had to have people sit on the front in order to counter act the weight distribution.
  8. i thought the same thing with rigor. I asked her but she has yet to answer me. As soon as I know more I will be sure to post it.
  9. In my opinion that animal is just scary to see dead, imagining that thing living would scare the crap out of me!
  10. I would have to say mount it! When I shot my 9 pt, my dad's first thought was mounting it for me. Now since I have it mounted, every time I look at it, it brings back the memory I had with him, when I was granted the ability to harvest the animal with him. So in my opinion I would say mount it for him!
  11. My boss sent me the picture this morning. I asked the same thing! I looked at it in the pic and nearly wet myself to think that, that thing was roaming the woods! She said that in the morning they were debating taking a quad into the woods, but in my opinion bringing the quad was a smart idea.

    Big Bear

This bear was taken in Bethe NY, by my bosses husband. It weighed in at 604 pounds and its sex is Female. THIS THING IS A GIANT!
  13. In my spot by 5:45. First shots at 6:08. I proceed to check the sunrise time 6:47 it says. Wth is wrong with people?! Did they not take a hunter safety course?!
  14. Sorry everyone, your right shawnhu, I meant state land...
  15. I thought I'd start a topic about this land. Today started the endless calling to make a reservation for the opening of rifle season. Anyone call and get through? Also this post could be about if we saw anything on our visits.
  16. Set up and in the tree by 7:15. By 745 had 5 does walk by 50 yards out at 8:00 had a big basket 6 walk 40 yards out, pulled back and the does in front blew and spooked him out. At 8:20 a lonely doe can in 40 yards, I let on fly to have it smack a branch and go elsewhere. I'd say today's a good day to be out! Good luck everyone!!

  18. Did you use hot water when you made it? I have tried making my own before and it called for hot water and that seemed to work. Just my .02c.
  19. I hunt up on skmemunk mt just below the palisades state park alone with a private section by kyrius joel. But I've only seen the deer at a distance nothing came into shooting distance. I'm hoping the rut will bring em in.
  20. @ Apoallo- where in Monroe do you hunt? I've seen some big bucks the past couple days by ace farms.
  21. At woofer- I am not 100% you do need a parking permit for all state land. I know if you are hunting sterling forest you need one. If you applied for the permit they issue you the parking permit in the envelope you received. You then put it on your dash when you are in a parking area. Stewart for bow season you can just drive on in, but park in an assigned number spot.
  22. I saw something similar. I had a 4-4.5 inch spike this year. I debated taking him but the 7pt walked right behind the spike and well all is history from there. Ahaga.
  23. During bow- passed numerous does. During rifle- 7 pt, 1 doe, 1 button buck During muzzleloader- passed up does. What you all get?
  24. I would say you should fill out the tag. If you shot at the deer, and you hit her. It is your responsibility, for both you and the animal to pursue that deer. Now that you are sure that you indeed harvested that deer, you are to fill out the tag. I know you may have the notion you don't want to, but in all honesty, you have too.
  25. Congrats at that big boy. Must have been fun dragging that guy out.
