  1. Wow what a morning. I bumped 2 heading in and snuck to the spot I shot the doe yesterday. I was here 4 minutes, and out of the thick stuff pops out 3 small bucks which all paraded past me at 35yds. That got the heart rate up for sure. They made it past me and the wind shifted and bye bye they went. Cool encounter but I'm looking for doe. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  2. Haha it used to be organized but he's 70 and still working so stuff just gets tossed there. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  3. At 9:10am this morning I caught 5 does headed in my direction but they were a long ways out. Wasn't sure if I'd get a shot opportunity. To my surprise, they reappeared and came right into me. The biggest one came in and when her head was behind a tree, I raised the ML and squeezed off my shot. When the smoke cleared she was on the ground but kicked twice and was back up. She walked 15 yds and bedded. I knew it wasn't a great shot at that point but thought it should have been better for sure. I ended up hitting her in the liver on the first shot, missed on the second, and finished her off with the third. I practiced shooting before the season and the gun is on so it was all me. 5. I second Marino's if you like old shotguns. He has a ton of older stuff in there. Stop to eat at the Circle E diner just down the road for lunch or dinner. Have the coleslaw. It is 5 stars!! Marino's outdoor world 93 E main St Hancock, NY 13783 Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  6. I like your style. [emoji106] Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  7. The one thing he doesn't have is a scale but oh well. She will eat just fine no matter how big of a tubby she is. Skinned her up, gonna hunt the morning, and then process her and hopefully another in the afternoon. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  8. I measured the chest girth on my doe and according to the charts, she had quite a rack! Big gal and the field pics make her look tiny. And no it isn't my garage, it's my father in laws. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  9. Look down a few posts, I got her and it was Liver and some guts. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  10. Choot em Mike, Choot em, LOL!!! Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  11. Ok ready for round 2. BIL is sitting, I got an iced coffee after that drag, and I'm amped up. Look out deer. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks everyone. First shot was Liver mostly and some guts. Went in mid body but exited just in front of right rear leg. Thought she was broadside but must've been quartering too a bit. Now to drag her up this freakin hill of blowdowns. [emoji107] Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  13. Excellent morning with some not so well placed bullets but got it done thankfully Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  14. I saw 3 deer head across the creek and thought mine was the last one. I eased over to the hit site and saw her bedded. She got up and I missed. I was able to reload and walk right up to her as she couldn't get up again. Pics to come Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  15. Just shot a doe and she went straight down kicked a few times and got up. She walked 15 yds and bedded. She got up again and moved then bedded again. Low shot? She was broadside at 45 yds. There are 2 doe with her and one is feeding. Can't see the other one or the one I shot. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  16. My buddy and I hit his hunting club land this afternoon. We did small pushed to each other while out. Ended up seeing 21 deer total but man are they fast and still spooked. Never could get a bead on one as they never really slowed up. There is always tomorrow. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  17. Hunted yesterday morning and bumped one but no shot. Hoping to change my luck this afternoon. Heading out in about 30 minutes to do some walking. Have Monday and Tuesday off as well. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk

  22. I use the Q tips as well after I soak it in something called Rusty Duck. It's a red colored liquid in a white plastic jug I bought at Gander years ago. It is a phenomenal cleaner for pyrodex or triple 7. Use in the bore as well. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  23. Yes it was an older Hunter and a pretty long shot for him close to 100 yds. Did the job. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  24. Hunted yesterday for the morning. Had 3 small doe all in range but another deer behind them was blowing the alert. I passed the 3 thinking the one blowing would follow them but never did. Later in the morning my buddies Dad had 3 doe run by chased by a 6pt. Maybe it was the same group? But will never know. Hunted another property today with 8 other guys. We did some drives and took 2 doe and a 10pt. (No shots for me) Not a bad morning with very little snow cover. Looking forward to front stuffer season this week. I'll have Saturday through Tuesday to make some memories. Here's the 10pt. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
  25. Just passed on 3 yearlings as a bigger deer was behind them and blew a few times. Was waiting but it never followed, grrrrr. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
