  1. If someone needs to recover a deer on Long Island, me and my dog can try to help. I have a trained blood tracking dog that needs more experience.

I can respond if you email me your number ([email protected]) or message me on this board.

I am not sure if theyll let me post my number, but I will try below

Its a free service, just for the puppy's experience.

How would you do that ? Any thing you have to do special ? Let us know so we can save it for you.

Nothing special. Just scoop some blood form the carcass into the plastic bag. The fluid left in the carcass after field dressing will do. Instead of throwing it out, you could bag it, freeze it  in the freezer and give it to me, which will be much appreciated, reimbursed at $5/ounce, and returned to the community in the form of blood tracking service. My dog is getting pretty good, just needs to get more experience with small amounts of deer blood on the trail. Thanks in advance!

is this something that is in short supply sometimes or not really?  should some of us hunters be keeping it to help out some of you search dog folks?  let me know.  never occurred to me.

I need about 1/2 gallon of frozen deer blood this summer to train my dog. I can supplement with sheep blood, but they do not smell the same (according to the dog). Any help will be much appreciated.

Where are you located? I've got a lot in my freezer for training Luna,  and I'll give you some.

Thanks very much for your kind suggestion!

I am located on long island, 6 hours from you

If you are in Waddington, NY, near the border with Canada, one option would be for me to send a Fedex truck your way

Let me know if this is something that you would agree with.

  5. Thanks for your responses

I do have a game dog breeder license in NY. The question is when can I release and shoot chukars for dog training in NY.

If someone knows, it would be highly appreciated.

  6. Ill pay you $100 per. Ill assume that you are a responsible human being, took the fox yourself, and will not sell me a rabid fox. Nothing weird here, I just need it for a religious ritual that involves fox reanimation and the impersonation of D. Trump's toupee. Nothing unusual.

  7. Think it's illegal to sell game(intact) unless it's for the fur.

    Long Island has many fox.

    This is from DEC website:

    Buying and Selling Fur
    • Species requiring a pelt seal (bobcat, otter, fisher and marten) cannot be bought or sold or given to another person unless it has the plastic pelt seal on it. All other species may be bought, sold, and transported without restriction.
    • Furbearers may be bought or sold either skinned or unskinned.
    • People who buy fur do not need a fur buyer's license in New York.

  8. sweet thanks man what time do you think I should get there on sat in order to beat the crowd?  I drove by cold spring harbor and it looked like a ton of snow geese if that's even possible!?  No way it was 2 dozen swans had to be snow gizzards

these are swans. they are > 60 swans living there in the cold spring harbor bay.

  9. the schmuck just wants to be the president so bad. He wants to appeal to his liberal base to win the primaries during the next cycle. If the law is repealed, he will be even better off, because liberals will treat him as a martir. someone has to tell him that he is not presidential material. with a mug like that he is better qualified to play darth wader without a mask.

  10. i am new to long island and was considering shooting some waterfowl. some questions about that

    1) does otis pike have any? there are some lakes/ponds there so the question is whether anyone saw any birds there?

    2) can i hunt waterfowl this time of the year there? Sorry if question is stupid, the rules seem convoluted.

    3) map show something called 'cooperative hunting area' (shaded) and also something called ‘DEC area’ that is solid gray. Can I hunt in DEC area? Not obvious

    Any advice will be appreciated

    Thanks in advance!
