The DEC can't control the population, and the legislature to enforce a hog eradication effort in New York is going to be next to impossible before these pigs breed over and over again. But as PREDATE stated, they are targets of opportunity. Check down the river areas near Tioga county, and a few others you read about on the above link. I talked to the DEC about wild boar hunting, and it was like pulling teeth to get information, but I got it.
