  1. Nah rotors were warped pre brakes going. Waited to long to replace the backs. The heat from the extra work on the fronts caused the rotors to warp. It was only a matter of time. I usually replace brakes and rotors together anyways. As for the tire it was random as all my tires are in good condition with good tread.
  2. With the proper set up and guidance you should be comfortable out to 30 yards within a few hundred shots. Part of the reason you don't feel comfortable is most likely due to inconsistencies of your equipment. Weight an arrow is just one variable. Spine is another. arrows flex when you shoot them. Some flex more than others. That also plays a huge role in arrow flight and accuracy. On top of that you have a straightness factor. Some have straightness tolerances. This is the least of your worries but combined with different weights and spine and you will have huge inconsistencies. Getting within 10 yards is admirable but that's only the first part. You then have to draw undetected and fire a consistent shot. Being only proficient at 10 yards you aren't doing yourself or the animal any favors. I practice out to 60 yards. I'll never take a 60 yrd shot on a deer but a that makes that 30 yard shot an easy chip shot.
  3. we are all fellow hunters here Phade. If there is anything you are gonna need hunting wise im sure us hunters may be able to come up with stuff. Let us know!
  4. I hunt 6N and is needs badly in that zone. Doe permits are not available for that wmu and have not been for 40 yrs. The deer population had never really rebounded and the answer is lack of ARs. Because of no Doe permits the general rule is brown , horns, down. Very few yearly bucks make it through their first rut. A buck can impregnate on avg 6 Doe a year. We need to give them more time to get the job done.
  5. So I have had no luck with my truck the last 2 weeks. Sorry need to vent lol. 2 Weeks ago my brakes start grinding. No biggie as I knew the front brakes and rotors were due. While at the same time my battery dies. Between the two $400 down the drain. While I'm putting back on my front right tire after the brake/ rotor I notice way to much wiggle in the tire. Great wheel bearing is going. Was gonna take it to the shop tomorrow morning. Come out today to go to work and back right tire is flat. Seriously I need a leprechaun to rub or something.
  6. I have to disagree with you. If you are hunting a large preserver like Montezuma wildlife refuge that is not a canned hunt in any shape or form. If you have 10k acres I dont care how high the fence is. It is definitely not a canned hunt. Period!
  7. I work with a guy that works part time at gander. He says they just are not getting ammo period.
  8. You dont see WBs at national archery competitions. If they didnt mess with accuracy then why wouldnt competition shooters use them?
  9. At 10 yards you should have trouble NOT taking out your other fletchings. Get the bow tuned by a pro shop. Shoot the same arrows with the same fletchings and points. Focus on your anchor points. I personally have 3 points of contact. Where my knuckle touches behind my ear, the kisser button on my lip, and the string touching my nose. Do that and your groups will tighten right up.
  10. Www.prostring.com. wes is awesome, Quick, and makes some amazing strings.
  11. How did you manage a 31in draw. To my knowledge the monster only comes in 30 in max. Either way. The extra contact of a wb can cause inconsistences with the shot. Let's not kid ourselves otherwise. Nothing wrong with the wb. Its a pretty solid rest stand gets the job done. You sacrifice a bit of speed and accuracy for simplicity. Its a trade off.
  12. Its so sad. Heart goes out to the families. The first thing that crossed my mind is there is no way 4 adults and 4 children including 2 toddlers could possibly have been belted in safely in a mini van. I see way to many children who are not properly secured. Rear facing in a car seat until three. The harness needs to be snug with the chest clip above the sternum. Also the car seat should not have any play to it. 5 pt harnesses for children under 5 and a booster until 7 or 8. If the kids chest strap doesn't cross the middle of the chest they need a booster.
  13. I love my HHA sight. Great quality and awesome customer service. For a rest I'm using a QAD Ultra HDX. Its an awesome rest.
  14. Thats why I set my cams to video and put them above 6 ft (usually around 7-8 feet angling down. Watched a pretty convincing webinar that showed some convincing data that deer tend to notice and or spook from camera shutters. Also a straight snapshot does not necessarily tell you everything you may want to know. They would have trail cameras taking pics and then another one higher up or on a different tree running video. Alot of the deer actually bolted from the camera after the pic snapped and that goes for those black out cameras. They also put cameras with no guts in them and the deer still spooked from them. Not one of the deer noticed the cams running video that were high up angled slightly down. After that all my cams are set for video usually 30 second clips.
  15. There is a guy that has already printed a lower for an AR 15. The first one broke pretty quick but he revised it and was able to fire 600 rounds through it before he ran out of ammo.
  16. Just an FYI you don't want to get caught with T3s in your quiver come hunting season. They are considered barbed which is illegal to hunt big game on in NY.
  17. I shoot the Victory Vforce arrows. they come in both .001 and .003. I shoot the .001 because I got a good deal on them. Shoot great and are plenty tough enough.
  18. I have the Matthews t5 but that's a bit more than 100
  19. yes hording is a problem. I recently read an AR 15 book and the author suggested you have 8-10k rounds on hand not including reloading supplies. I think that seems to be the magical number for horders. 8-10k .223 or 5.56 rounds. Same with .22 LR
  20. Yeah that site posts satirical columns. Its fake but funny.
