Skipping the sit tonight. I feel like I should be out there but I had a kids bday to throw after being up at 4 am for the morning sit. Have a splitting headache and I'm exhausted. I'll be out tomorrow and all day Tuesday though

Got to stand 15 mins later than I wanted to. Got halfway up in the tree and got blown at from down wind

Picked up some wool pants...omg wonderful! Decided this year to make the switch to asat 3d leafy suit so it pulls over anything. No more freezing in the woods just to get my favorite camo pattern. Picked up a bunch of warm lightweight clothing for layering with neutral top layers

Got into stand way to early. Looked at my phone and I was in the tree by 6:15. I knew I was in trouble when I was shivering before first light. Needless to say by 8:15 nothing was moving and I was cold. Got down. I'll be heading out this evening dressed a little warmer

Saw nothing but found these rubs on the way out. 60 yards from my stand. These are 5 different ones all within 15 yards. Big boy needs to come by when I'm in stand. All the trees are 2-3 inches in diameter.

Wind picked up in 7f. So far nothing.

I plan on being in the woods tomorrow morning but I am rethinking it. Deer just don't move much in the wind

No not at all. It was completely clean the part that wasn't buried in the dirt. Just white hair. She hung around like nothing was the matter. No limping. Nothing.

The road my camp and many of the camps around are minimum maintenance dirt roads so the main mode of transportation around the area is by atv. People up in the sticks don't tend to wear helmets when riding especially to the hunting stand. Hence all the tickets for riding without a helmet.

Well I blew it. Doe cam in to my right. First I didn't think she would give me a shot. The cam back the other direction. Was headed right in front of my stand 10 yards. Then changed her mind and circled back around behind. 15 yards broadside around the back of the tree. Not making any excuses. Was a steep angle. Don't know if I dropped my bow arm or just aimed low but shot low. She bounded off 15 yards and stopped. I slipped back behind the tree and knocked another but no other shot. She slowly circled back around me and left the way she came like nothing happened. Arrow impaled 18 inches deep in the dirt. White hair everywhere. I did find quite a bit of blood but none on the arrrow. Looks like I grazed her. Being that she didn't look in any distress I'm gonna say she was ok.

Had 2 doe about a week ago only about 90 lbs a piece. Gave them a pass. Had 2 deer come in before first light. One sounded like a heavy hoofed buck the other was a doe munching acorns under my stand for 20 mins before she caught my scent and busted out.

Well ran into my first bow hunter on state land. He was walking straight at me in a field. think he was planning to set up here. Sorry pal beat you by one hour. He stood there starring at me. I'm sure he was swearing. The he turned 90 ° and headed down the field edge. I have a feeling he is going to try and cut me off

Ever since my father and brother got turned in for hunting over corn on our lease the dec have been all over our area. Not only did they bust 2 guys with bait but got a few dozen helmet tickets. They now hang around high market all hunting season. It's the ticket honey pot
