  1. X2! The only broadheads I've ever had a problem with always seemed to be the 4 blade ones, not all of them but some. I don't know what it is but maybe the have a tendency to plane more being 4 blades. It could also be that you didn't tighten your rest down good when you adjusted it the first time, you could be getting fletching contact or for some reason you're torqueing the bow. All these issues don't show themselves as bad with field points, but put a fixed blade on and they'll show for sure.
  2. Syracuse weather says light and variable for wind today, which means your scent will be drifting all over he place. This is why I laugh when guys say you don't need to try to be scent free, just hunt the wind. Well, what do you do for days like today, stay home? And what if its like this for a week during the prime rut? Miss the whole week?
  3. I'd say 115-120. 8 points don't score as well as you would think. I shot one that had 10&11 inch G2's and I thought for sure it would make P&Y. It didn't!
  4. Syracuse weatherman is calling for warmer than that. The coolest day in the 7 day forecast is still gonna be 70. http://www.9wsyr.com/weather/default.aspx
  5. Supposed to be this warm for the foreseeable future in the 10 day forecast
  6. I forgot the Motrin. Had a pounding headache in my stand all morning!
  7. Don't get lost going to your stand in the dark if theres fog. Flashlights don't work worth crap in the fog, the reflection off the fog only lets you see about 10 feet! I'll be south of Skaneateles in the morning. Hopefully theres no fog there.
  8. Check out Sugar Hill. Theres some big bucks running around there!
  9. Move rest to left in very, very small increments. It should bring your broadheads to where your field tips are hitting.
  10. Yes....but the bad thing is, they will eat at night when its cooler. I'm sure we'll still see deer but it wont be ideal conditions.
  11. Weatherman is calling for mid 70's all next week! Hopefully this is one of the many times they are wrong!
  12. I haven't seen any deer out in the bean fields around my house since they started to turn yellow. I think they wont hit them much again until they pick em.
  13. What are we talking about here, the violations that the people get caught doing or are we also talking about ones that don't get caught too. I'd say that shooting before/after legal hours is high up there but rarely do you see anyone get a ticket for it, especially during bow.
  14. Thanks.... Every day I get out of bed is a great day!
  15. Like others have said, its the way your holding your bow. You're probably torqueing it too and don't even realize it. I used to do this and when I bought a 6 inch brace height bow the string would whack my arm every time. I learned real quick the proper way to grip a bow after that!
  16. For me, if my heart starts pumpin when I see it, I'm shootin it. A lot of times it depends on how much venison is in my freezer. If I fill it with does early, I'm waiting for something big the rest of the season!
  17. You can. Food Plots, Apple Trees, Oak Trees, etc.........
  18. Betcha that forecast will change. They're never right when predicting that far out. They can't even get tomorrows forecast right half the time
  19. This is what happens to my arrows when I hit 3 inches from my aiming point. You would think they'd give you a little margin for error, especially when shooting 40 yards in the wind!
  20. I'm sick of ruining arrows in this target just because I missed my mark by 3 inches. Theres something hard in them along the bottom of the target. I aim at the bottom left of the square insert and if you hit just left of that above the leg you will ruin your arrow. I should send them a bill for the arrows I've ruined over the years hitting this spot! Next spring I'll be buying a new R&W 3d Target and someone can have this crappy Glen Del. OK, rant over.
  21. The deer with the biggest antlers isn't always the dominant buck. It's the deer that's the meanest somebitch on the block that's the dominant buck!
  22. Still shooting my trusty Switchback XT for the seventh year. I cant find anything newer to buy that I like as much and trust me, I've tried. The Elite Answer was close but the lack of tunability on the 2 track binary cams keeps me from buying one. Maybe they'll come out with one that has Hybrid cams someday!
