Its also good for just practicing in your yard. I own 2 acres but one neighbor is about 350- 400 feet from where I shoot my bow. He has never said anything about it but now if he does I can tell him to go pound salt.

10 years from now all the bowhunters will be talking about "the good ol' days" before X Bows were introduced.

Its been happening for a long time now Doc. Why do you think they put all these special seasons into Archery season? If you take out the youth season and the part they stuck X Bows in, we are left with a couple weeks of October hunting and that will be where they end up sticking a special early muzzy season. Bowhunters no longer have a voice in NY and I don't know if we really ever did! The DEC doesn't ever mess with gun season.....except to try to make it better (Saturday opener)

My tip for fishing high,muddy,cold waters for trout is to stay home and wait for it to warm up!

Unfortunately, most dems are not just a one issue voter. They wont vote against him just because of the safe act and he has already promised them the world trying to buy everyones vote. And wouldn't taking his guns away because he don't agree with you be the same thing you are against? Think about it.

He read it. Trust me, he's a very highly educated man! 4 years at SU. And he's just one of many that I know like this. I cant be the only one who knows gun owners who will vote for Cuomo, they're probably more prevalent than you think. That's why he'll win re-election with no problem!

They're lifelong democrats....wouldn't vote for a republican for nothing. My uncles one example. He's a hunter and gun owner. He just don't think the safe act effects him at all.

I know plenty of gun owners that will vote for him. They hate Republicans that much! Pretty sad actually.

Yep.....Cuomo pissed off gun owners......gun owners wanted crossbows.......Cuomo gets them crossbows.....Cuomo gets votes from some gun owners because he got crossbows included.......Cuomo gets re-elected. Yep, I'd say that's a win for all!

Bowhunting takes a lot more effort, therefore its harder. I could go sit at the end of a deer drive and shoot a deer with my gun, nothing real hard about that. I can be proficient with my gun after shooting about 5 shots to sight it in....can't do that with a bow. I just need to be in the neighborhood of a deer to shoot it with a gun.....need to get much closer with a bow. Just because you find it easier to shoot a deer with the bow only means that you're a good hunter IMHO. I don't know if I would say for sure that Bowhunting is harder but it does require a lot more effort, which I guess does make it harder. Now I'm confusing myself!

And for what its worth, I've run into way more A-Holes out gun hunting than Bowhunting. Trespassers, guys shooting farmers tractors and goats, poachers and guys driving 4 wheelers on public land where they are not allowed are some of the things I've personally seen during gun season that I have not witnessed during bow. I'm sure it happens during bow too and it doesn't mean all gun hunters are A-Holes. To state that 80% of bowhunters are jerks is just an opinion. Just like we have formed an opinion about you being an uneducated troll!

I hardly consider anything you've said to be facts. Opinions maybe, but you know what they say about them....everyones got one! You just seem to be another troublemaker on this site that I need to add to my ignore list.

I live pretty close to there. Never saw any turkeys or heard them or seen tracks. The place is loaded with Coyotes and Fox. That could be the reason why. I wouldn't waste your time.
