Hi everyone!
I am PhD student and I am currently working on a project documenting human and animal interactions from a variety of different perspectives. I am interested in talking to and photographing hunters and hearing about your relationship with both the animals you hunt and, possibly, other animals. I'm especially interested in people or groups with hunting dogs and/or hunters who consider their relationship with the animals they hunt to be respectful/ethical or otherwise complex.
I am located in Buffalo, but I will travel a few hours in any direction to talk to you.
I am not involved in hunting myself--in fact, I'm a long-term vegetarian. It is not, however, my goal to pass any kind of moral judgement in this project. Rather, I'm interested in how you would describe your own experiences and in representing you in a way that you would consider to be accurate. I don't think it would be fair to you, however, to not share this information about myself with you before you agree to meet with me. I definitely would not anyone to feel tricked or mislead. This project is not a work of activism but of documentation.
In case of any confusion, this is not paid work.
Please respond here or e-mail me at peopleanimalsproject(@)gmail(dot)com if you would be willing to help me out.
Thanks!
