  1. Pandora's film score radio fitting in quite nice right now
  2. I can't hear anything with 30 mph gusts. I'll tell u this though. For the afternoon hunt I'm bringing headphones and listening to some Music. Can't hear anything coming thru the woods anyway.
  3. Questioning when I'm heading in. Doubt they're moving in this.
  4. Forecast calls for 55mph winds tomorrow.... Hold on tight guys!
  5. N.Y. PEN. LAW § 265.00 : NY Code - Section 265.00: Definitions - "Firearm" means (a) any pistol or revolver; or ( a shotgun having one or more barrels less than eighteen inches in length; or © a rifle having one or more barrels less than sixteen inches in length; or (d) any weapon made from a shotgun or rifle whether by alteration, modification, or otherwise if such weapon as altered, modified, or otherwise has an overall length of less than twenty-six inches; or (e) an assault weapon. For the purpose of this subdivision the length of the barrel on a shotgun or rifle shall be determined by measuring the distance between the muzzle and the face of the bolt, breech, or breechlock when closed and when the shotgun or rifle is cocked; the overall length of a weapon made from a shotgun or rifle is the distance between the extreme ends of the weapon measured along a line parallel to the center line of the bore. 6. I was just curious to see what everyone else does. No harm in Phade's response, thats his personal opinion. Sarcasm? Maybe... Doesn't mean much. The reasoning behind my question is that I generally get into my stand 45min to 1 hr before 1st light. So you can see my concern for putting out scent early. I've done it in the past and I've watched monsters walk right by only to never see them again. I've also hopped down real fast, threw up a scent wick, clicked my harness back in and shot a buck 5 min later. so it has worked but it is risky. I like the slingshot idea though! Phade Any particular you recommend?
  7. Anyone wait until first light to hop out of the stand real fast and lay scent down instead of when you first get in while it's still dark? My thoughts were that laying it down while it was still dark may cause your deer to come in before legal shooting time.
  8. I'm gonna guess it wasnt your bow just the way these broadheads are. Two ways to look at it I guess: 1.) No passthrough = less penetration... or 2.) The arrow and broadhead is thrashing and cutting up more as it still hangs in there while the deer runs.
  9. What scent were you using on your drag?
  10. I've been using spitfire's since they were introduced on the market and love them. I have never lost a deer with them. NEVER! I will admit though I often do not get passthroughs.
  11. Neighbor driving his tractor to the end of the property and ripping his chainsaw for the whole afternoon hunt.
  12. If it makes you feel any better Jesse, I pulled the footage off of three of my cams yesterday and with the exception of does all footage is noctutnal as well. Based upon what I had seen in the stand yesterday they came down paths I wouldn't have expected nor do I have cams on so that doesn't mean the deer aren't out there.
  13. Just passed on a couple doe and a high 7. There's a couple out there I'm waiting on.
  14. Anyone calling yet? I'm hearing them walk all around me but I'm hesitant to call this early in the season.
  15. Beautiful morning! A lot of deer on the road when I was driving in. I'm hoping they're moving more.
  16. I just bought antler ice... I'm just questioning when I'm going to try it... Experience with the following: Code Blue - Snorted and ran away Buck Bomb - No deer ever seen when used Tinks 69 - Only worked prime rut Kishel's - 70/30 Good product (Local)
  17. I have the trail cam software W.I.S.E by hunt club which takes the meta data from your pictures and downloads all the corresponding weather data to pattern the deer. I've only been entering bucks into the software not does. Personally I haven't been able to pattern them yet based upon temp, barrometric pressure, windspeed/direction, moon phase, etc. The software has a feature called stand suggestion which is supposed to take that data and based upon the upcoming weather tell you what your probability is on different stands. When I checked it on the stand 4 weeks ago it was wrong so I'm not sure how much trust I put in that. I might be using it wrong though. If anyone else has had good experience with this and can give me better suggestions how to use the software, let me know. I'm kind of using it blindly...
