Thanks guys for the advices. Any thoughts on what the lone Tom could mean? Does that mean that flocks are near?

Any advice in locating a fall flock? I've spent way to many days trying to find a flock, I've found scratchings scat and a few feathers but no turkeys. Only a lone Tom on the trail cam. There is plenty of mast and some fields near by. I can't seem to figure out where everyone went!

There are pockets of briar with wheat, surrounding timber and a nice white line area, I have acces to the timber as well, te open area was what attracted me along with the water supply

I gave just gained access to some farmland with two overgrown crop fields, surrounded by hard timber and a small stew running through. I have been scouting for two weeks and not one turkey. I thought this is an ideal area for them. I've read that turkey usually do not venture far and can be found in the same areas year after year. Any advice? Should I give up in locating anything? If I do not see turkey now, does that mean a sure shot that I will not see anything once the season starts?

Does anyone have any experience and area suggestions for spring turkey hunting on state land in region 3? I am very eager here!

I am quite desperate in finding places to hunt in Dutchess county and for all of region 3 for that matter, as is the majority of hunters in the area so it seems. I wanted to get some information on Spring turkey hunting on state land in the area. Does anyone have any experience? Will I have to worry about overcrowding on other hunters like in deer season? Are there many turkey hunters in the area? Any suggestions on which state lands see the least traffic? I really appreciate any insight given, thanks

Hi Everyone, I was wondering out of everyone's own experiences and personal opinions, which are the least deer hunted public lands in Dutchess county? And if they are all hit pretty hard, which areas of those lands no body really ventures too? Thanks
