  1. I don't think the people that leave stuff like this take into account that other people use the state land too. Hikers, joggers, kids, people just taking a stroll. To leave the carcass there is one thing(not that I agree with that either) but to completely behead it and leave it propped up there like that is another thing all together. Degrading to the animal and just plain ignorant.

  2. This is pretty low. If you think this was funny it isn't. It's sick and you're demented. You're a sorry excuse for a hunter. This is not only disrespectful to the hunters but also to the animal. To think you got a kick out of this makes me sick. I was excited as always to get in the woods this morning but the first thing I see when I pull in the parking area is this display you left. Do everyone in the area a favor and give up hunting. Don't come back, we don't want you here. I hope you read this and know how people feel about you. You're not a hunter you're a sadistic lowlife. Get a different hobby. One that doesn't include hacking up animals and leaving them on display. Just disgusting and I'm pissed! If this doesn't give hunters a bad name I don't know what does. Scumbag. post-3961-13864528330959_thumb.jpg

  3. I've never seen a bobcat in NY. My point was that you should know what species exist in NY and know how to identify them. Maybe you live in an area where your allowed to shoot a bobcat, maybe you don't, etc.

    50-60lbs? maybe 30-40lbs.

I see your point. Def would've helped if I knew exactly what I was looking at and if I could shoot before I saw him. Then again I did not expect it at all. I wasn't hunting bobcat lol. However I wish I knew I could've legally shot the coyote I saw. Def shoulda taken him down. Now I know. In my area from what I gather I would need a permit to bag the cat. When I get home I'll look up the specifics on it.

No I don't know every species that lives in the woods. Apparently you do. Good for you buddy. Anybody else here think it's "scary" that I never saw a bobcat before. You act like I mistook it for a deer or a person for that matter. Just wasn't sure if it was a bobcat, a mountain lion, or someone's overgrown cat. I'm not a zoologist but I take it you are. Good for you:)

  5. Saw only does moving at night pretty consistent for the past week. Last night I finally saw a buck. I'm betting on the next couple of days being good hunting with the weather cooling down and low winds plus the moon is fading. Cross my fingers for tomorrow morning.

  6. Last year was my first year. I heard a ton of shots at the first crack of light and then a few seconds later a flash of deer came whizzing past me. Couldn't even tell if they were does or bucks. Pretty exciting. There's no other day like opening day. Can't wait but for christs sake will it cool down some this weekend??!!!
