  1. Did your girl leave you because you lost your Viagra, you old fart? I cant believe how many of you guys on here think that nobody is allowed to have a different opinion than you. Bunch of stuck up s!

By the looks of it he probably goes the other way. I think him and Steve bump . Just another key board tuff guy. On another note: Have fun hanging with these clowns. I'm done with place.
  2. Recurve was all I shot when I was a kid and shot pretty damn well with one. Still like playing around with them. I just enjoy shooting a compound more. All I ever shot and hunted with was open sights on my shotgun until last year. Bought a single shot 20ga. and mounted a scope on it.

  3. in fairness to this guy, that emoji is part of the site. If the site doesn't want it used it should be moved be gone. I noticed that a while back too, and technically it doesn't display the swear unless you quote it.

Well in all fairness. I did say **** in my post prior. I guess that's a big bad word. They say worse than that on regular television that kids are watching.
  4. Did you miss this video? This is an off hand compound shot. This is hunting not target shooting. There are no bars, front or side.

I never said you couldn't shoot 100 yrds accurately with a compound. The point I'm trying to make is that there are many more ways to steady your shot with a X bow than a compound. Hence giving you more of an advantage with a X bow. Right or wrong?

  5. Here is what the Triple Crown results from 2009 through 2013 would look like if the "Men's Bohunter Release" class and the Crossbow class competed head to head. Granted, they do shoot at different times, but they both shoot the course from the "green stake", thus they shoot the same distances at the same targets.

Note: Crossbow scores are highlighted in green.

If crossbows are so much easier, more powerful and more accurate, why aren't the top of each years results all crossbow shooters?

Why is the crossbow at the top spot only once in 5 years?

Why is it only twice the crossbow would have had 2 people place in the top 10?

attachicon.gifIBO International Bowhunter Organization Triple Crown Results.pdf

Can X bow shooters use bi pods? Can you rest your compound on your knee to steady your aim as I could in the field while hunting with a X bow? You can't compare the results of target shooting to hunting situations.

  6. Check the online results for the IBO Triple Crown and Nationals.

And your point? Two total different situations. We're talking hunting. Not target shooting. Whens the last time you seen someone hunting with a 30' front bar and a 15" side bar with scopes and 27 series arrows?  You can try and sugar coat it anyway you want........I'm not buying it.

  7. I thought for sure that "true bowhunters" would embrace the additional level of challenge that comes with having more hunters in the woods...not run off to their secret place where things are easier.

    Hmmmm, I guess I was wrong,lol

It has nothing to do with not wanting more hunters. It has to do with the mind set that people will have with a Xbow in their hands. I staff for Excalibur xbows and you would be amazed what I hear people saying while I'm doing shows. I get first hand experience with these people.  It really makes you think how this is really going to effect the archery season. Again. I have nothing against them. I just don't feel they belong in the archery season unless your physically unable to draw a bow.

  8. I'm sure glad I picked up some private land to hunt in the past couple years. I can't even imagine what the archery season is going to be like for the public land hunters. I can just picture sitting in my tree stand watching a bunch of knuckle heads walking around with Xbows. Sorry........they just don't belong in the archery season and whether it's passed or not. I will not be supporting it.

  9. Bow hunting is easy I bow hunted for years found it boreing and without challange. That is why I stoped bow hunting.Only bow hunters say it is hard because they want to make it sound like they have special skills.I will agree it is a little harder then when I carried a bow but only because in most areas there are less deer .I have to say over the last 15 years the bow hunting population has gone up and deer pop has gone down.I know everyone will be saying I stoped because I couldnt do it.That couldnt be farther fron the truth.Dureing bow season deer are stupid you even get the rut that makes bucks dumber.I hunted open fields innevening waited for them to come out to feed picked the one I wanted then crouched low and walked to deer stand and shoot.Stay low move slow the dont pay you much attention.By the time gun season comes around they are getting there smarts back and after the first weekend they go nocturnal which makes it even harder.I am not against bow hunting but the bow hunters are the ones that do most of the crying and act like they are special. They are also the majority that trophy hunt for decorations.Take me serious or not Bow hunters are the only ones that have a problem with the truth

Please enlighten us with a pic of all the mature bucks you've killed with a bow.

  10. My buddies and I went shore fishing on lake Chautauqua last year after turkey hunting. We caught a couple. Had a hell of a time trying to clean them but ended up dusting them in seasoned flour and frying them in a cast iron skillet over the camp fire. Mighty tasty

Get yourself a pair of  skinning pliers. Skin em', twist their heads off, egg, flour, bread crumbs and deep fry. The meat will fall of the bone with a fork. Dip in some cocktail sauce. YUM! I remember when I was a kid my ol' man would come home in the middle of the night and fill the bathtub full of BH. My Mother used to freak!!! HAHA!!!

  11. The gorilla XL loungers are as comfy as they get if you can still find them. They're a bit heavy, so they're not too pack in pack out friendly. I have 4 of them and they're getting pretty beat up from the elements. I'm thinking I may go with the milleniums this year. If I were to need a stand for mobility it would be a lone wolf hang-on even know they aren't the most comfortable stands.

  12. Aside from all the BS that this tread went into, I was in the market for a new bow this year too.

I went to my local shop, looked at and shot a bunch and narrowed it down to the following (in no order)......FOR ME:

    Mathews Chill R

    Elite Energy 32

    Hoyt Faktor

    Prime Alloy

I heard good things about the Prime Alloy, but my local shop had one that was 3" longer than my normal draw, so I didn't give it a good look in  the first round. I went on their website and there was a place where you could request to have one sent, with my specs, to my local shop. I filled out the form and it was there in less than two weeks.

Again, all of the ones I mentioned above were nice shooting bows that I would have been happy with for many years, but I ended up going with the Prime Alloy. It was a toss up between the Prime and the Chill R, but i kept going back to the Prime and just loved the balance on it.

BTW, I have shot a Mathews Swithchback XT for the past 10 years and I kept an open mind when deciding, but I am keeping it as my back up.

I'm not that big of a fan of limb stops (personal preference), but I can tell you that the primes are a dream to tune.

  13. Seriously getting worked up. Why is it such a big deal to you; are you new to the internet? You still haven't answered my question. Fwiw, my original post was to bowtoons and wasn't even directed at you. He had some stuff to say about Mathews and I chimed in to give my opinion of them. That's how forums work. People disagree and the OP gets to see both sides. Nothing to get all junior high over brah. I wasn't checkin yo girl out ;) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

You still haven't answered my questions either Mr. know it all.

  14. You clearly have something against Matthews and proper grammar, so I felt it was necessary to add my .02 on why a lot of people shoot Matthews. Sorry for not getting all the specs right. You'll notice I did not say I ever shot the chill, nor did I discount other bows. Just simply trying to squash the Matthews hate I see all the time. I shoot an old switchback and I've never wounded or missed a deer. That bow has been all over the woods and never once given me grief.

You're absolutely right... However there's also a reason any brand or model is popular and it's usually because they check the most boxes for most people. Do you see more iPhones or windows phones? Are windows phones better? Maybe for some, but not most. Is a Camry the best car for all? No. But it is for the largest population segment. My only point to the Matthews haters is that their bows did not accidentally become popular. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Yep! your right. I hate Mathews!!!  Here's a list of Mathews bows I've owned

    LX

    (2) SBXT's

    Reezen 6.5

    Monster 6

    MR6

    Z7

Yep! I hate Mathews and as for your grammar comment.......... :fuck:

    Is that better??????????

  15. You claim that he should look at other bows and hypocritically dismiss the ones he's interested in. Not everyone wants to monkey and tweak their cams. That's the beauty of Matthews solo. It might not be the fastest but it's one of the easiest and most reliable to shoot. I prefer not to buy my bow from a pimply faced kid at dicks... I'd trust an authorized dealer at an archery shop. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

BTW. I never told him not to shoot the bows he was interested in. I simply was telling him to explore all options before he made a decision. So.......I never dismissed anything! I gave him my opinion on what I thought having shot all of the manufacturer's that were mentioned. Could you please explain why a Matthews is "the easiest and most reliable to shoot" ?

Of all the manufacturer's I listed please tell which one(s) you can't buy at an authorized dealer? Let me guess. You buy a bow from a "pro" shop, they slap your rest, sight ect... on an square it up with a laser tool and your good to go? Well, I got news for ya pal. Your bow was not properly tuned. Even with a solocam you need to tweak stuff. Yoke tune, cam starting position ect... so before you decide to jump on someone do a little research first so next time  you'll sound like you have half clue.
