  1. Fins to Feathers for me as well, very nice work. He butchers a lot of my deer that I don't do myself.
  2. Imagine if it were deer season when this happened? Haha
  3. I think guys also just don't enter their bucks into these kind of clubs for scoring, I know of a half dozen 130"+ bucks taken on Long Island this past season that were never officially entered into any of these types of things.
  4. Rivers edge makes the best built stands IMO. I have 5 of their hang on stands.
  5. We have 2 team real tree (Ameristep) 20ft ladder stands on our property, very well built and nice stands over all. 20ft on flat ground is high, 20ft on a steep hillside feels like 50ft!
  6. I have a private club in 4W in EastBranch off Rt 30, I killed a 110lb bear opening afternoon of bow (my first ever) and a doe a week or so later. Last evening of bow I missed a very nice 8 that I had been watching since August, would have been my best buck from our mountain. Least amount of bucks I have ever seen on my trail cams this season but they were better quality. Rifle season was ok I only hunted opening weekend and saw plenty of deer just no shooter bucks. By the end of the season a member killed a huge 5 pointer that was 180+lbs and we got about 5 or 6 doe, couple of more bucks should have hung but some members have poor marksmanship/user error lol. I'm mostly a Bowhunter so I hunt 4W early season and than out on LI from mid Nov and on, was able to take a bunch of deer down here on the island.
  7. I don't post here much but I am a young Bowhunter (26) and have been hunting with a compound since age 16. I have taken a good amount of deer in recent years with my compound, and started shooting a recurve last summer. I am pretty good with my shooting but still am not comfortable to hunt with it yet, I am dead on at 15yds but start to get sloppy after a few shots at 20yds. We have one more week leaft of bow season here on LI and I think my last day out will be with my Recurve since I have taken several deer this season with my compound. I am shooting a Pearson Cougar 50lbs @28" beeman 500 Bowhunter shafts with 50gr inserts and 125gr Magnus Stinger two blades, with three fingers under. I started with split finger, but switched to three under and was much more consistent. Next season I am starting with the recurve.
  8. I own a summit bushmaster, love the stand. Not going to find any stand more secure and comfy than a summit.
  9. They have been around a long time is all I know, we have some old white posted signs bordering part of our property in Deleware where Sunrise Farm used to lease property from our neighbor. I think the still lease land in EastBranch.
  10. I like Rivers Edge, I have three of them.
  11. What type of bow did you get? Brand, poundage? I'm getting a recurve very soon myself.
  12. Should have put it up 2 weeks ago, duck season ended last week.
  13. I stated getting into predator hunting in the last two years started with a single shot .22 and now picked up a .22 mag. Killed two grey foxes both time I have been out, the .22 mag is an awsome round. Haven't seen a Coyote yet but should take one down fine if I get a head shot. Killed this nice grey 2 weeks ago in the Catskills 60yd shot with ballistic tip ammo dropped him on the spot. I used a rabbit hand squeaker call. Definitely exciting animals to hunt.
  14. We got foxes all over on the Suffolk/ Nassau border.
  15. Tagged out with the bow first week of November upstate, have not been out on LI since late October. Will probably go out after next week and try to fill my doe tag.
  16. You will most likely be hunting someone's backyard, there's a couple of guys running outfits like this. Pretty much they have permission to hunt a few acre parcel behind a house in the hamptons and you pay for them to bring you there.
  17. It's not related too it, never said it was.
  18. Heard the same thing, though not 30,000. Heard it was going to be 3 to 4000 animals. They cut the extra buck tags to save deer and now they are going to do a cull. WTF?
  19. A lot of those deer most likely were some guys ONLY kill for the season, not really understanding what you getting at. Cool pictures!
